ftp.borland.com

Welcome and thank you for using Borland's ftp server;
"ftp.borland.com"! This document gives a brief overview of
the purpose of this site, the file structures and other
useful information. Please feel free to share your comments
or criticisms regarding this service with us at the
administrative e-mail address noted below.

Purpose

The mission of this server is to provide Borland customers
with up-to-date product related information via the
Internet. All public Borland support materials are
available from this site.

File Structure

All materials reside within the "/pub" subdirectory. Below
this directory are the following areas:

custserv/ ...Customer Service related information
filxdir.txt ... File Directory cross-reference
partners/ ... Borland Business Partners
eduinfo/ ... Educational Institutions
libs/ ... File Libraries
support/ ... Support Programs & Options
INDEX ... Master file list (lib, path, filename,
				   file size, and description)
README ... (This document)

Getting Started

We suggest that you "get" the file INDEX, the master index
first.	The INDEX contains a listing of every file in the
"/pub/libs" subdirectory areas and includes the filename,
size, date, time, and a 40 character short description of
content or purpose. It is formated in SDF (standard data
format) for easy import into a dBASE or Paradox database.
Optionally, you may use your favorite text searching
application to scan the INDEX directly using keywords or
phrases. Additionally, there are ".mes" and ".ndx" and
"readme.txt" files in each subdirectory. The ".mes" files
describe the contents of the subdirectory while the ".ndx"
files contain the appropriately extracted portions of the
master index.

Miscellaneous

File uploads are not permitted at this time. Administrative
issues regarding libraries, information, or operation of
this service may be directed to rogerw@borland.com.
