12-16-93 Terminal Emulation

If you cannot connect, three things must match on both sending and

receiving modems/software. On non-V series modems, set the software to

Autobaud or Autodect = YES/ON. Two is Terminal Emulation (most often ANSI),

some mainframe BBS use VT100 or some other emulation. The last is Parity,

Stop, and Bits. You will see somewhere in the software a place to set N,8,1

or E,7,1 (could be 8,N,1 or 7,E,1) the two most common settings. Most

local BBS use N,8,1 and large BBS like Compuserve use E,7,1.
