By default AA (AutoAnswer) is OFF (ATS0=0). To turn AA on, ATS0=1. To

set and SAVE, ATS0=1&W. If it has 'stuck' in AA then ATS0=0&W will reset

to not answer, and save it. For a PC usually AT&C1&D2 should also be set.

For a MAC, &C0 or &C1 seems OK, but for AA it must be &D0 (not &D2).

Some software sends ATA to the modem to tell it to answer, when the

modem sends 'RING' to the software. If the software does this, then ATS0=0

is correct.

When the AA LED is off (autoanswer off), it should blink ON for each

ring, then type ATA and the modem will answer. When the LED is ON

(autoanswer ON), it should blink OFF for each ring, then it will answer on

the set number of rings.
