Specializing in 256 color DOS based programs:

.PCX image processing programs
------------------------------
Since the .GIF format is no longer in the public domain I have adapted
all my distributable images and programs to the .PCX format.

ALL SOFTWARE SUPPLIED ON 1.4meg 3.5" DISKS

SCD1.0 - Random access data base that displays .PCX images. Does a string
search in the text file PICDAT.TXT and displays all records that
contain the string. All standard IBM wildards accepted (* \ ?).
Searches for AND, OR, and WILDCARD. When a record is found the
appropriate text and picture is displayed.
    Shareware registration $20.

SPCX1.0 - .PCX picture display device. Auto configure and display
picture. Also can be used to querry and identify video hardware, CPU,
    Mouse type, XMS installed, etc.
    Shareware registration $20.

ZPCX2.5 - 256 color data authoring system with mouse support. Allows author
to set up a user querry process and create a data file including
.PCX image. With tutorial (EXAMPLE), sample graphics, including
shareware version of GILBOAPAINT which can be used to set text
on the query screens. Full mouse and keyboard support of user query.
    Everything fully editable.
    Shareware registration $80.

PPCX1.0 - Prerelease version of GILBOAPAINT. 256 Color, SVGA, .PCX image
paint program. This program is not complete and the development work
will continue. At present I am offering prerelease versions of
GILBOAPAINT 1.0 as shareware. Shareware registration for most
recent version $40. In return you recieve eligability for $15 updates,
your personal copy of GILBOAPAINT with your name and serial number
    imbedded in the code

New features added and improved frequently.

GS - I have been using GILBOAPAINT exclusivly for processing images.
I find that now I am doing a lot of work on the IBM that in the
past sent me to my AMIGA or a MAC. Many features are incomplete
or not implemented the way I eventually desire but short
commings aside I find it to be a valuable tool that I am using
often. GILBOAPAINT will never alter your palette or shift
the dimensions of your graphic. This becomes important
when you are cordinating a graphic with mouse clicks and
doing overlays of one graphic on another as in programming.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
GPPG2.1 - George's perennial planting guide. 300 plus garden perennials

Student tests are graded and a record kept of the student scores.
It is possible to add to this code for example an optional printout
of test, a record of which question were missed by each student, etc.
    Shareware registration $10.

    Programers Note
    ---------------
QUIZ.CPP is the "C++" code included as an example. It requires SVGACC.LIB
Borland "C++" to assemble. The string search is a nice piece of code
that in part is mine some of the origional work was done by Kelvin Ma,
and the most recent improvements are the work of Steven Balkum. A
    thourough study of search_string(); find_arg(); and the compare();
functions is quite instructive. This is a very versatile tool as it
not only searches for a string but will search for multiple strings
OR, ANDOR, and also accepts all standard DOS wildcards like ? \ *.

MANDLE1.0 - A group of mandlebrot graphics drawn by consecutive ellipses
while the x & y radius are being incremented or de-incremented and
the number of repetitions is controled by a random number generator.
Some of these contain a calender clock. Requires SVGA.
    Shareware registration $10.

    Programers Note
    ---------------
M5.CPP is the "C++" code included as an example. It requires SVGACC.LIB
Borland "C++" to assemble. This of course could be rewritten using
the "Borland Graphics Library" ellipse primative. The clock is
also a Borland "C++" function localtime(); in <time.h>. The string
was clipped using the setview(); function to clip the unwanted info.
If a password was added to the escape and the program was put in the
autoexec.bat it could provide security protection against casual tampering.
By the way I was asked how do you get around it. Easy - boot the machine
from a floppy, with dos and a text editor, and alter the autoexec.bat.

   ABOUT SHAREWARE...

Shareware (also known as user supported software and other names) is a
concept not understood by everyone. The authors of Shareware retain all
rights to the software under the copyright laws while still allowing
free distribution. This gives the user the chance to freely obtain and
try out software to see if it fits his needs. Shareware should not be
confused with Public Domain software even though they are often obtained
   from the same sources.

If you continue to use Shareware after trying it out, you are expected
to register your use with the author and pay a registration fee. What
you get in return depends on the author, but may include a printed
manual, free updates, telephone support, etc. Only by paying for the
Shareware you use do you enable the Shareware author to continue to
support his software and create new programs. Considering that the
Shareware registration fees are almost always far less than the purchase
price of comparable commercial software it's obvious that Shareware is a
   good deal for everyone.

There are real advantages to you in the Shareware system. You get to
try out software to make sure it is compatible with your hardware and
that it fits your needs before you "buy" it with your registration.
The author saves the expense of advertising, packaging and distribution
and passes the savings on to you. Plus, most Shareware authors are
much more accessible than commercial software sources so that your
questions and suggestions are much more likely to be responded to.

GS - yeah, call BILL GATES and get him to change WINDOWS to your specs!
