                         -----------------------------

PPP is a DOS ODI driver that implements the Point-to-Point Protocol over
a standard serial port, and supports IP protocol stacks. PPP also
supports PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) for security.

LOADING THE PPP DRIVER
----------------------

Since the PPP driver is an ODI driver, it requires a program called
LSL.COM to be loaded prior to loading the PPP driver. LSL.COM is a Novell
program (known as the Link Support Layer), and is provided with Novell's
Netware and other Novell products (Klos Technologies, Inc. cannot provide
this file as we have no license agreement with Novell to distribute this
program).

LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH LAN WORKPLACE
-------------------------------------------------

The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
Novell's LAN WorkPlace products would be as follows:

        LSL (from Novell)
        PPP
PPPMENU (to configure and establish a connection)
        TCPIP

At this point, you should be able to run PING, TNVT220, FTP or any
other LAN WorkPlace applications.

LOADING THE PPP DRIVER FOR USE WITH AN ETHERNET PACKET DRIVER BASED IP STACK
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

The typical sequence of events for loading the PPP driver for use with
an ethernet packet driver based IP stack (such as FTP Software's PCTCP,
Kali, or NCSA Telnet) would be as follows:

        LSL (from Novell)
        PPP
PPPMENU (to configure and establish a connection)
        IPSTUB

At this point, you would load your ethernet packet driver based IP
stack. For FTP Software's PCTCP, you'd load ETHDRV. Any other IP
applcation designed for use with an ethernet packet driver could be
loaded at this point.
