     Title: (Sopa De Frijol) Black Bean Soup

  3     c  frijoles(black beans already
           cooked, or canned)
  2     c  -3 water
  4     sl bacon, chopped
    1/3 c  finely chopped onion
  1        sprig epazote (not sure what
           that is)
  1     tb dried oregano
           Salt

In blender, puree the frijoles with 2 cups water.
Brown the bacon in a large saucepan without adding oil. When the fat has
cooked off, remove bacon and set aside. Saute the onion in the bacon fat
until transparent, then add the bean puree. Cook, stirring contantly, until
mixture comes to a boil, then  lower the heat and add the epazote and the
oregano. Add salt to taste and cook, coverd for 10  mins. If the soup is
too thick  add the reamaining 1 cup water.

For garnish...fry 4 day old corn tortillas in oil in fry pan, drain and cut
strips, and add a dollop of sour cream and a slice of lime to the bowl of
soup.
