Subj: Microwave cooking
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
I use my 2 microwaves every day. I never use the oven now. One of the
microwaves is also a convection oven. I cook spaghetti, macaroni and
noodles in the microwave. I put in the dry noodles, cover with hot water
and cook for about 10 minutes or so until done. It may take longer
depending on amount. I also brown ground beef in it. I crumble it as it
is cooking. If your recipe calls for chopped onions, celery, bell
peppers and garlic sauted in oil until softened, you may do this in the
microwave without the oil. I put in a teaspoon of water and cover the
container. This is the basis for a dish that I make a couple times a
week. I cook the veggies, then the beef and then add tomatoes or sauce,
water and the noodles. I season it with cumin, chili powder or I use
canned green chilies. I some times add a can of kidney beans. If I think
of it, I will add beef bouillon. Usually I use whatever I have on hand.
Did you get a recipe book or manual with your microwave? That is how I
learned how to use mine.
