NOTES VERSION 2.0

Shareware Version
Interim release 2.0

12th April 1995

INTRODUCTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Documentation to accompany Notes can be found in the Windows help
file NOTES.HLP. To access this, select Contents from the Help menu in
Notes.

Notes is a utility program for Windows, and further description about
its uses and applications can be found in the Windows help file.

Notes was written by Steven Porter, and is entirely my own work. Notes
was written using Turbo Pascal for Windows 1.5 from Borland. Notes is an
ObjectWindows program. Portions of this software package are copyright
to Borland International.

The software provided within this package is provided on an "as is"
basis and the author (Steven Porter) makes no warranty whatsoever
regarding the product and specifically disclaims any implied
warranty or liability of any kind.

All trademarks are acknowledged.

DISTRIBUTION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The complete package contained within the compressed file and is
distributed as shareware. It is not free nor is it public domain. The
copyright of the package is retained with the author (Steven Porter). This
software can be evaluated for a limited period of 30 days. Afterwhich, if
you intend to continue using it, you must register with the author (see the
Windows help file for further information). You, the user, may freely
distribute the compressed file, but the individual files contained within
must not be distributed separately.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------
INSTALLATION
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

The compressed file contains the following files:

NOTES.EXE - Windows executable file
NOTES.TXT - This text file
NOTES.HLP - Windows help file
NOTES.INI - Initialisation file
FILE_ID.DIZ - Brief description for BBS
VENDOR.DOC - Vendor documentation
VEND_ID.DIZ - Vendor documentation (duplicate)
CTL3DV2.DLL - Microsoft 3D Control DLL
DEMOS.NTS - Sample NTS file
CONTACT.NTS - Sample NTS file
README.NTS - Additional information in NTS format

All of the files should be located in one directory.

The first time you execute NOTES.EXE, the program will move CTL3DV2.DLL to
the windows/system directory. This makes the installation process easy.
It is not necessary to copy the file yourself. If however, you have
problems then check that CTL3DV2.DLL is located in the windows/system
directory, and - not - in the Notes directory.

Some users may already have a copy of CTL3DV2.DLL in their windows/system
directory, in which case, Notes will overwrite it automatically. This will
- not - cause any harm to your system because both files should be
identical.

I ask only a nominal fee for registration, so do the right thing and
register. Registration is now available using CompuServe, and by credit
card. Please read the help file for full details (select Help/Contents
