Shareware Version
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This shareware version of MOVIES TO GO! contains information on 1,000 movies
so you can "try" the software before you "buy" the full version.  On
April 1, 1995 the registered version had over 9,500 titles, to which we add
200 to 300 each month.  The 1,000 movies in this shareware version were
selected as representative of the full, registered version and were chosen as
follows:
    Number      Category             Reason We Chose These Films
    ~~~~~~      ~~~~~~~~             ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      59 Jan-Apr 1995 Films Our software is the most current anywhere
     278 1994 Films Academy Award Winners, Box Office Gross
     105 1939 Films We have older, classic titles too!
     105 1949 Films Give the user a flavor of the 1940s
     292 1989 Films Help user find good, older, videos
     105 John Wayne Films Our software is complete
      59 Charlton Heston Films Referenced in the Tutorial
      16 "Pirate Movies" Referenced in the Tutorial
       1 The Movie "10" Referenced in the Documentation

Of the above 1,000 films, 380 are listed as "Good," 437 are categorized as
"Average," and 99 are listed as "Poor." The remaining 84 have no review
because none of our staff has seen the film, we have insufficient information
on it, or, in some cases, the film hasn't been released yet. As you can see,
we spend more resources researching watchable films rather than wasting time
and your precious hard disk space with the "losers."

Powerful Search Features
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
MOVIES TO GO! will help you find a film or video that you will enjoy.  Search
for a movie in your favorite category (comedy, drama, sports, family, etc.),
your favorite actor, director, or a combination of all the above.  For
example, suppose you are an avid John Wayne fan and would like to watch a
good, war, drama starring John Wayne.  Search for "John Wayne,", "Drama,"
"War," and "Good," to list the following films:
   HORSE SOLDIERS, THE
   LONGEST DAY, THE
   SHE WORE A YELLOW RIBBON
   THEY WERE EXPENDABLE
One of the ways to find an enjoyable video to rent is to combine a Category
Search with a Keyword Search for the words "Top 10."  For example, search for
"Comedy," and "Top 10" in this shareware version of MOVIES TO GO! to list the
following 15 films which were one of the top 10 in box office gross in at
least one year:
   ACE VENTURA: PET DETECTIVE
   BABES IN ARMS
   BACK TO THE FUTURE II
   DEAD POETS SOCIETY, THE
   GHOSTBUSTERS II
   HATARI!
   HONEY, I SHRUNK THE KIDS
   I WAS A MALE WAR BRIDE
   INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE
   LETHAL WEAPON II
   LOOK WHO'S TALKING
   MCLINTOCK!
   MR. BELVEDERE GOES TO COLLEGE
   NEPTUNE'S DAUGHTER
   PARENTHOOD
As far as we know, you can't do either of the above two search with any other
software product!
Movie buffs should do a Keyword Search for the word "Trivia."  This shareware
copy lists 46 films with interesting bits of trivia, and the full, registered
version lists hundreds more!  Needless to say, with the ability to search by
category, actor, director, MPAA rating, key words, year, setting, main
characters, possible objectionable content, trivia, authors, music, and box
office gross, you have endless possibilities with MOVIES TO GO!
Video Cataloging System
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The graphics version of MOVIES TO GO! allows you to attach a 20 character
personal note to each movie. Many people find this feature gives them the
easiest, most convenient video cataloging program available anywhere.

Hardware Requirements
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
PC Plus Magazine called our graphics interface "stunning" because of the
animated icons, 3-D buttons, and graphic menus. The graphics interface,
MOVIES.EXE, requires 549K of free conventional memory, a VGA monitor, and a
386 or faster computer.
The text interface, TEXT.EXE, will work on virtually any IBM compatible PC
with 256K or more of RAM and enough disk space for the files.  The registered
version currently requires about 5 megabytes of hard disk space.  Mouse and
sound cards are supported, but not required.
Installation
~~~~~~~~~~~~
To install this software, simply place the disk in drive A: (or drive B:) and
enter the command A:INSTALL (or B:INSTALL). From Windows, select "Run" from
the Files Menu and enter A:INSTALL. Follow the instructions as they appear on
the screen. Unpacking files, making directories, creating a new group, and
printing the documentation is handled by the installation program.

How to Order
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The regular price of MOVIES TO GO! is $39.95 plus $4.00 shipping / handling.
This includes the program on three high density 3.5" diskettes, packaging,
and a printed manual.  Most people call (800) 767-1978 and order with their
credit card.  See ORDER.TXT for additional methods on how to order.
If you have a 14,400 baud or faster modem, and would like to order with your
credit card, call our BBS: (505) 275-9696 N 8 1.  This method has three
advantages:
    1) You can have the full, registered version NOW.
    2) Because we save the cost of diskette duplication, packaging, and a
       printed manual, we reduce the price by $14.00 -- $10.00 plus $4.00
       shipping and handling.
    3) You can subscribe to the MOVIE UPDATE BBS at the same time for only
       $15.00 -- $10.00 off the regular $25.00 price.  This will give you
       access to monthly updates for an entire year!  Next year your renewal
       fee will remain at $15.00, as long as you never let your subscription
       expire.
We suggest that you order MOVIES TO GO! from our BBS only if:
    1) You have a 14,400 baud or faster modem.
    2) You have a reliable telecommunications program that supports either
       the ZModem or YModem-G protocol.
    3) You have a copy of PKUnzip version 2.04g (or its successor).
    4) You should have a reasonably priced long distance telephone service.
       At 14,400 baud it takes about 3 minutes to download UPGRADE.ZIP which
       converts the shareware version into a registered copy, and about 25
       minutes to download MDATA.ZIP which has information on all 9,500
       films.  Add 15 minutes to fill out the credit card information and
       familiarize yourself with the BBS, and your first call should be about
       45 minutes long.  Plan about 30 minutes for each update thereafter.
