PIQUE v2.0                                 (C) 1994 K. W. Risser August 1994
Price: $17.00

Pique is a Usenet .BAG file processor. This is used mainly in conjunction
with those BBS systems that are running the Planet Connect or Pagesat
satellite systems. Pique will process the downlinks .BAG files and create
new .BAG files with -only- those newsgroups you configure it for. It will
additionally weed out any and/or all of those nasty and unwanted UNIX header
lines so that the size of your message base will be smaller and the messages
will be more attractive.

The TBBS online Purity Test v1.0           (C) 1994 K. W. Risser August 1994
Price: $39.00

             - Gaming/quiz software for TBBS/TDBS systems -

The online Purity Test is basically an online quiz for your users that
conducts the (in)famous purity test. The version of the purity test used
is the 500 question version and is broken into its original 11 sections so
that a user doesn't have to take all of the questions in one session. Once
all of the sections are taken a final score is given. Features include:

        * Utter privacy, scores kept only at the section level
        * The TOP TEN most naughty and most nice
        * List by most naughty/nice
        * Sysop defined Email conference name for Email capabilities
        * An UltraChat hook that allows someone in chat to pull up you score
        * Kurt's usual amazing sysop options screen, includes purging
          by date, name, etc. Has many, many controls built in.

The interface is Kurt's standard, professional looking screen, it's very
attractive! This will keep your users talking for a while, no doubt about
it!

The Internet Mailer                        (C) 1994 K. W. Risser August 1994
PRICE: $29.00 (Dirt Cheap..as always!)

             - Utility software for TBBS/TDBS systems -

OVERVIEW:
  This software provides a beautiful interface to both a public and
private internet 'address' book. Put this on your Mail and Internet
menus and delight the customer! (Your users of course)

OPERATION:
  Upon entering the Internet Mailer your user will be presented with
an attractive interface that includes the existing PUBLIC addresses that
you or other users have put into the database. The user can then begin
to punch in their most used addresses. This has two advantages to it:
it in convenient and fast and it does away with possible typing errors
that can be introduced in some of these monster addresses.
  The address books, both public and private, are sorted on NAME by
default, but can also be sorted on frequency of writings as well. A
two line description can be included and will automatically pop up at
the bottom of the screen as the user scrolls through the list with their
cursor keys. A record of WHO added records is also included in the
database and can be seen from the <E>dit menu when viewing/editing a
record.

SHAREWARE VERSION LIMIT:
  The shareware version is limited only by a nag screen.

MAINTENANCE MENU:
  If your TBBS access level is high enough you can access the maintenance
  menu from the program by pressing the '!' key. Options available here:

  * Delete a user
  * Delete all users who haven't used the database in x days
  * Delete ALL users (start over)
  * Specify the name of the Internet e-mail msg base
  * Allow users to edit the PUBLIC book
  * Allow users to download the PUBLIC book
  * Import records from the older 'Internet Address Book'
  * Pack user database & rebuild indices

  YOU MUST BE THE ONLY (EXCLUSIVE) USER OF THE ADDRESS BOOK at the
time that you use this option. It physically removes records
which have been marked for deletion using the other maintenance
functions (described above). It also rebuilds the indices.

  * Specify maintenance menu user access level

  This allows the sysop to set the minimum access level required
to utilize the Maintenance Menu. If you do not change this, the
default is 200. The value you specify must be between 1 and 255.

Summary: A beautiful interface, a BIG time saver, and a convenience
          that your users will enjoy over and over again.

The CIA World Fact Book - Type 20 database for TBBS Systems
PRICE: $20.00 (Dirt Cheap..as always!)

               - Informational Database for TBBS systems -

THE
      ۿ

         ۿ
      ۳
       World Fact Book - 1994

  Every year the CIA publishes the World Factbook, a reference of country
  information. Included are topics on a countries economy, infrastructure,
  communications, and military strengths. Shiva is glad to bring you the
  latest edition of this terrific resource. Not only can you view the info
  online but you can turn on your CAPTURE LOG and create a file from any
  of these records, and then print it, incorporate it into a document, etc.

OVERVIEW:
   The CIA WORLD FACT BOOK is public domain information. The packaging of
   said information however is a sellable commodity. I wanted this
   information so bad that I took the time to slice and dice it into a
   format that works excellently with TBBS systems using the TYPE=20 call
   to a 'family name database' structure. This database is over 2.5 megs
   large and is cut into approximately 280 files. It took me roughly
   5 hours of drudgery to do this so for 20.00 I think you could save
   yourself a LOT of pain and frustration. Your users will thank you as
   well!

INSTALLATION:
   Unzip the entire package into a directory, ie. C:\CIA. Then edit the
   CIA.DES file to suit your own BBS. In one of your .SDL menus you will
   want to add the following:

   Entry:
   TYPE=20 KEY=C Opt Data=C:\CIA /E

   That's all there is to ie. Make sure to edit the entry above with
   the proper path information. You may also make each country individually
   downloadable to your users by adding modifying the above paramaters.

MISCELLANEOUS:
   There is no 1995 World Fact Book right now, this is the latest edition
   available. As updates are made you may always download them from
   THE DANCE OF SHIVA BBS at no additional charge.

The Ultimate Event Calendar                (C) 1994 K. W. Risser January 1995
PRICE: 79.00 (A steal!)

               - Utility software for TBBS/TDBS systems -

OVERVIEW:
  This software allows you, the sysop, to install as many 'calendars' as
you would like to have on your system. These calendars can then be assigned
'owners' who, including yourself, will have the ability to add/modify/delete
events from them. Calendars can also be designated as 'public' and thereby
allow your users to add as many events as they would like. The interface
is beautiful and has more bells and whistles then you can shake a stick at.
In the usual Kurt Risser style, this program is a gem for -ANY- system.
Your users will also be impressed with the power that a TBBS/TDBS system
has after an excellent programmer has gotten a hold of it!

FEATURE LIST:
        o Beautiful 'Pick-List' menu that displays on the screen and allows
           a user to cursor to the appropriate day/month using arrow keys.
        o The famous Risser 'delayed presentation' of information while
           a user is quickly tooling around the calendars dates for low
           system impact with the most professional presentation possible.
        o Public or private ownership of as many calendars as you would
           like to create.
        o Single key entry to a specific calendar or menu access to all
           available calendars based on users priv. levels
        o Easy editing features such as copy, move, etc.
        o Optional downloadable text based report of a calendars events
           by range or in total.

  Possible ideas:
        * A calendar of movies for the local theatre
        * ....concerts coming to your city
        * ....bands playing at a large nightclub
        * ....public / city sponsored festivals
        * Sell a calendar to a local entertainment establishment
        * Used as a product release schedule
        * User meets and coming additions to your BBS
    The possibilities are endless.

What Is PCM Online? (Taken from the INTRODUCTION section of PCM Online)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  Subscription information follows...
   PCM Online is a text-only version of the magazine PCM (the Premier
Personal Computer Magazine, established in 1984), which is published by
Falsoft, Inc. PCM Online is prepared just for bulletin-board services. It
contains all the articles, columns and features that go in the printed
version of PCM -- plus more!
   One fundamental problem with a piece of paper is that it doesn't
stretch, but a digital "page" can be stretched to a nearly infinite
degree. So, in this online version, we can give you articles, hints, tips
and reviews that wouldn't fit in a month's printed edition. We can also
dig into our archives to present you with some of our favorite stuff from
past issues.
   One thing that always set PCM apart from its competitors was its
listings: BASIC programs our readers could type in and run through the GW-
BASIC or QBASIC interpreter. Real programs -- games, utilities, databases
and more! For those people who didn't care to key in up to nine pages of
BASIC source code, we offered PCM ON DISK, and still do. Of course, you
don't need PCM ON DISK if you read PCM Online -- and you certainly don't
need to type in the listings to run our programs -- because the listings
are right here, ready for you to use.
   If you're an aspiring BASIC programmer, you'll find our listings great
learning tools. And if you've written a program you think we could use,
please consider submitting it for publication -- we're always looking for
good new programs. Submission guidelines are included later on in this
section.
   Another thing that sets PCM apart is that it's currently two
publications in one: bundled within PCM is the shareware magazine/catalog
called Software Shopper. In the pages of Software Shopper, you'll find
reviews of the latest, greatest shareware programs, plus older titles.
We've included Software Shopper in the PCM Online package, so go ahead and
browse through it: you'll probably run across games and utilities you
can't live without.
   Most of the shareware we review can probably be found on the BBS you're
logged to right now. But if you can't find a title online, you can order
it from us. Software Shopper is a vendor member of the ASP (Association of
Shareware Professionals).
   There is a very special advantage we can offer you by publishing
Software Shopper online: we can give you Software Shopper's complete
database -- that's thousands of shareware program descriptions compared to
the few hundred that are squeezed into the printed version every month!
   Falsoft also publishes an online version of PC Kids, the only hands-on
PC magazine just for kids. It's full of computer facts and fun, puzzles
and jokes. We even have a mascot, Pips, who shows kids how to do cool
things with Windows in his column, Mousetales. If your SysOp doesn't carry
PC Kids Online, please pester him/her on our behalf. <G>
SUBSCRIBING (taken from the Introduction section of PCM Online)
~~~~~~~~~~~
   If you are a SysOp and would like to carry PCM Online or PC Kids
Online, all you have to do is contact us. Updates are available the 2nd day
of the month. PCM Online is a monthly magazine featuring 30 or more
excellent articles as well as 100's of Shareware reviews. It's an
indispensable source for BBS users who are looking for good information
on how to use the tools they have available more effectively. It's
also a boon for your users as they can browse the shareware reviews for
software that may interest them. PCM Online is offered in standard
text file format as well as the popular READROOM format (much better).

NOTE: November and December of 1994 are -FREE- Feel free to post it
online now and pick up the December issue from us directly at no cost as
well. Orders will not be taken until December.

I know the costs of many magazines and 'services' for your BBS is out of
reach. I am a sysop myself and our system has just recently made the
Boardwatch TOP 100 in the Nation. It's an uphill fight and I remember
well the problem of providing good content to users at an affordable price.
This is our answer to it. I hope you think that it's a good a deal as
I'm making it out to be, because you will not find more for less anywhere.
We promise to keep the price low and the QUALITY high. - Chuck Burke

War Mongers (c) 1995 Nathan Obert
Price: 75.00                                                       June 1995

        War Mongers is a TBBS/TDBS war simulation game involving 3
        players in a combative war to take over the world. Players
        initiate a game first by creating or joining one waiting for
        more players. Once 3 players are assigned the game begins!!

    WARMONGERS is a role playing turn based game. Players begin the game
    with armies located on countries throughout the world and then take
    turns in all out fight to the death for domination. The battles are
    'role-played' using 1-to-1 odds with bulk usually determining the
    outcome of the battle. At each turn players are awarded armies for
    each country they own, plus bonuses for each continent they own,
    multiplied by the number of days since they've played. It's the most
    addictive game we've introduced on Shiva since Virtual Sysop...and
    that's saying something! There are specific strategies that make the
    first player of the day or the last player of the day have certain
    advantages. The game has a tremendous amount of staying power and will
    remain popular for a long time to come!

    Special Features include:
        o The most outstanding ANSI you've ever seen wrapped into one
           TBBS program, and this is no lie! The game is absolutely
           beautiful in its presentation and game play!
        o Sysop defined security limits and 'email' box
