NEW FEATURES IN VERSION 1.4

Based on the suggestions of registered users, the following
enhancements have been included in Version 1.4 of ThingsToDo:

1.	More Customization: Version 1.4 will allow you to
	lock in your preferences for:

    a.	The View which will be displayed when you
	first start up ThingsToDo;
    b.	The type face and type size which will be used
	for the following elements of a printed View: the
	ThingsToDo title, the View title, column headings, the
	item, and notes;
    c.	The ability to select, on a view-by-view basis,
	 the order in which items will appear on the screen and
	on the printouts;
    d.	The ability to detect and use the format for the entry
	and display of dates which you selected in the Windows
	Control Panel so that you can use "day/month/year"
	format, if desired;

2.	The ability to delete an item, without marking it as
	completed. This allows you to get rid of some items while
	keeping an accessible archive of others.

3.	The ability, at the time of printing, to suppress all notes;

4.	The ability to indent lines in your notes;

5. 	The removal of the 2,000 item limit;

6.	The ability to bring up the DatePicker by double-
	clicking on the date field when entering or editing an item;

7.	The ability to more quickly enter items of the same
	type by offering the type of the most recently entered item as
	the default type for the item you are about to enter;

8.	The ability to access all views by using Hot Keys;

9.	The addition of three more customizable task types; and

11.	The ability to print a particular item and its
	associated note from the item data entry window.

INSTALLATION

Once you have downloaded TTDW14.EXE and completed the self-extraction,
it is very easy to get ThingsToDo up and running. Just follow
these steps:

1. Use File Manager to find the "Setup.Exe" file which was created
	when you triggered the self-extraction. Double-click on the
	filename and it will create a "\Windows\Things" subdirectory
	and copy to it all of the needed ThingsToDo files except
	"VBRUN200.DLL". (You may, of course, start the Setup routine
	by using the Program Manager's Run option. Remember to
	include the path of the directory where the extracted files
	were placed.)

*********************************************************************************
2. IMPORTANT: You must also place in this directory the file
        "VBRUN200.DLL" which must be downloaded separately
        from the on-line library.
*********************************************************************************

3. You may then start ThingsToDo in any of the customary
        ways:
	 double-click the "Things.Exe" filename on the File Manager,
	 place the command "C:\Windows\Things\Things.exe" on the
		      "Load" or "Run" lines of your WIN.INI file,
         use the "FILE/RUN" option of Program Manager, or
	 find the new icon on your desktop and double-click it.

4. For further instructions, print out and review the
	  "Things.Wri" file using Write.

REGISTRATION

ThingsToDo is a "shareware program" and is provided to you for
evaluation at no charge. Feel free to share it with your friends,
but please do not give it away altered or as part of another system.
The essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal
computer users with quality software without high prices, and yet
to provide incentive for programmers to continue to develop new
products. If you find this program useful and find that you are
using ThingsToDo and continue to use ThingsToDo after a reasonable
trial period, you must make a registration payment of $35.00 to
The Manager, Inc. You are encouraged to pass a copy of ThingsToDo
along to your friends for evaluation.

The full terms under which ThingsToDo is offered and a description
of our support policies are contained in the manual.

When you register, I will send you a printed, illustrated, indexed
manual as well as a copy of ThingsToDo which does not display
the annoying registration notice at startup. I will also answer
your questions, keep you informed about updates, and take your
comments into account as we plan new updates. I welcome
your comments, questions and suggestions.

You may register by printing out the INVOICE.DOC file included
with ThingsToDo, filling in the form and mailing it with your
check or money order to me ( David Merk) at
