                        POSAT3.6 QUICK DOCUMENTATION
                        ============================

OVERVIEW

POSAT is a Point Of Sale application for shops of any size or type.
It performs cash register and inventory control functions, petty cash /
expense function and streamlines stock takes. Its on/off switch able
features are amount rounding, discount and tax calculation, change
calculation, and low stock warning, and a docket setup to suit any
language. It also provides a range of statistics by stock item and sales
person. As it is colour coded and has a constant help line, it is very
quick to learn and easy to operate. Requires only a normal PC and optional
a cash drawer, docket printer and scanner. This making the package much
less expensive than an electronic cash register.

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

POSAT3.6 requires an IBM compatible PC running DOS 3.1 or higher. A hard
disk and disk cache are highly recommended, as are a cash drawer and docket
  printer.

INSTALLING THE PROGRAM

  1. Put the Installation Disk in drive A: or B:.

  2. From a DOS command line enter "x:INSTALL" (where x is the name of the
     drive with the Installation Disk).

  3. Press ENTER to accept the default directory to install to, or enter a
     fully qualified directory name ("d:\sales").

NINE EASY STEPS TO USE POSAT THE QUICK WAY

Make sure you installed a cache, about 2 times bigger as the size of the
file PRICELST.EVC. Without a cache, POSAT will run slowly. ( 1 Meg. CACHE
is optimal for a pricelist of 7,500 articles). The files POSAT36.EXE,
  POSAT36F.EXE, INSTALL.EXE, STARTEVC.EXE, SETUPPOS.EXE, SHOPDATA.EVC,
PRICELST.EVC and a editor renamed to EDITOR.EXE (use QEDIT) must be in the
  same directory as POSAT3.6.

  1. To start POSAT3.6 type "POSAT36" and press ENTER
  2. Type salesperson code (codes are S, P, Y, or B)
( repeat sales starting here )
  3. Type article CODE (see list below)
  4. Type Y to acknowledge Yes (L,M,H does also activate Low, Medium or
High discount) or N for No.
  5. Type how many articles the customer wants
  6. Type the code of the next article or "F" and ENTER or "FFFFFF"
      ( to finish sale )
  7. Type C, Q, or T (standing for Cash, cheQue, crediT ).
  8. Type the amount (cash, cheque) the customer is paying.
      ( sale is finished )
  9. Press any key in the DAYEND field to go to the screen saver,
(Press any key to get out of the screen saver and back to No 2)
or type "DAYEND" to show the day's result and close RESULT.EVC.
You'll be ask if you want to run POSAT36F to finalize. When you answer
Y , then it will read all results stored in RESULT.EVC and places the
      final results in the files:

DAYbyDAY.EVC = financial results up to and incl. today.

        SPERSON.EVC   = daily salesperson results,

SOLD.EVC = articles sold results up to and incl. today.

and does rename the file RESULT.EVC to RES+YEAR+MONTH.DAY
        (RES95FEB.12).

The rename function for DAYbyDAY.EVC and SPERSON.EVC as well as
BALANCE function is normally used only at the end of a month and
is in detail described in the manual.
