I went to the Library today and picked up a Pennsylvania Dutch cookbook
by Ruth Hutchinson. So here are some recipes from it. I decided to
 mainly do the sweets.

                   cookies
                   Apees
3/4 lb. butter 3 1/2 cup flour
1 lb. sugar 1/2 tsp cream of tartar
*3 eggs beaten separately 1 cup sour cream
cream the butter and sugar add the egg yolks and blend. Stir flour with
cream of tartar into the bowl, little by little. Mix together. Add sour
cream and fold in the egg whites. Chill overnight in refrigerator. Next
day roll out on floured board, shape with scalloped circular cutter. Bake
on greased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 10 min. watching to
prevent burning.
 *beat whites separate from yolks.

                    Bunny's cookies
1 1/2 cups shortening 1 tsp cinnamon
2 cups brown sugar 1 tsp soda
3 eggs 1/4 tsp salt
5 cups flour 1 cup chopped nuts

Cream butter and sugar, stir in eggs. Sift in flour cinnamon, soda and
salt and beat well.
Dredge nuts in a little flour and fold in. Shape into 4 rolls wrap in
waxed paper and chill overnight. Next day slice rather thin and bake at
325 degrees about 20 min. makes 160 cookies.

                      Oatmeal Cookies
1 cup melted butter 3 cups oatmeal (uncooked)
3 cups Dark brown sugar Pinch of salt
1 egg 1 TBLsp. vanilla

Melt butter, mix with sugar add egg and beat. Add oatmeal, salt, and
vanilla.
Beat well. Drop by teaspoon onto buttered vcookie sheet and bake 325
degrees until lightly browned.
