These are the executables and support files for the C-News package.
The package is configured to install both in "/usr/local" and "/u" and
subdirectories of "/u". This package was configured for a different
system name so you must inspect all script and configuration text files
and edit them for your own system name. For "rn/trn" you will have to
use /usr/bin/patch to patch the binary for your own system name.

Patch rn (news reader) to change system name:
Patch bytes 26480 - 264a0

I strongly advise against installing this package in any other directories
other than those already configured. You will have big time problems!

If you need more documentation than is provided here, you will have to
obtain the C-News source package. There are additional docs in the package
that explain the flow of news and how it works.

Setting up a news system is no easy task. This package gets you 90% of
the way there because it is an easy installation.

Below is a sample of what your /usr/lib/crontab entrys should look like:

20	9	*	*	*	/u/lib/news/cron.poll
0,15,30,45 *	1-31	*	0-6	su news -c '/u/lib/newsbin/input/newsrun'
0	0,10	1-31	*	0-6	su news -c '/u/lib/news/cron.daily '

Enjoy!
