                   User Manual for
              Netit/Cmd and Process/Cmd

The sharing of files between computer systems via a telephone connection
has become one of the more prominent uses of telecommunication packages.
To ensure data integrity most files are transmitted via the Xmodem
protocol. While this method does secure the actual data being
transmitted, several "key" factors of the transmitted file have been
altered such as the actual LRL, number of records in the file and the
position of the EOF marker.
This is of no great importance if a program file is being transmitted,
but data files often demand that such information remain the same.

D & D Software has researched this monumental problem and we offer
our own solution:
Netit/Cmd -------- Processor for files being transmitted
Process/Cmd ------ Processor for files having been received.

Use of these two utilities is simplicity itself.

Getting ready to transmit a file(s):
From DOS Ready type NETIT. The utility will then ask you for
the file you would like to process. If this is the first time
you are using the program it will create a file called
TRANSMIT/FIL on the first available drive. After having written the
file it will return to DOS Ready.
For processing additional files repeat the steps above and Netit/Cmd
will append those files to TRANSMIT/FIL.
You are now ready to transfer the file.

Additional Information:
Netit/Cmd will also except the file to be processed right from the
command line, i.e. NETIT FILENAME/EXT
DO NOT specify a drive spec when processing files as NETIT will create
an exact duplicate of your file including the drive spec.

Processing the received file:
There is only one fact to remember about the Process/Cmd utility,
it will only process a file called INCOMING/FIL and nothing
else. To process the received file, from DOS Ready type
PROCESS.
The utility will extract an "exact duplicate" of the files that have
been sent to you and write them to the first available drive.

Additional information:
If the file being extracted contains a drive spec and that logical drive
does not exist on the receiving system an error message will be
displayed and the processing of the file will be skipped, subsequent
files will still be handled in the normal manner.

Netit/Cmd and Process/Cmd are protected under the copyright laws of the
United States of America and other countries.
