************************* FastTerm II Version 3 **************************

Changes from FastTerm II Version 1.0 thru 2.0 (which incidently was never
released).

Scripting - more commands have been added

Wait For will now time out after one minute and continue in script.
You can execute a script from boot if you add the filename on the command line.
All literal text should now be enclosed within " " for script files.
Variables have been lengthened from 39 to 80 characters.
More variable commands are supported and variables maybe used in more commands.
Scripting is much more reliable than previous versions.
Pause command added to halt script and then you may continue later.
Mask8 bit command documented and added (it got left out in the early version)
Chain command doesn't need the \ anymore in the filespec.
Some commands can mix literal text and variables on a line.
IF command structure added
GOSUB command structure added
GOTO command structure added
BAUD command for setting baud rate and uart added.
REDIAL command changed to COUNT redials or timeouts and display same.
WINDOWS added to scripts. You can program in, display, erase and input in
windows now. Its not a BIG window but ample for what is required.
TWAIT has been changed to receive and display incoming chars while waiting.

Command key added for executing script from terminal mode.

Script buffer is 8K in length (which leaves 73K of capture buffer on a 128K
machine).

VT100 Mode Changes

Some screen formatting codes were fixed. Somehow a bug got back in when I
wasn't looking.

File Transfer Changes

YMODEM BATCH RECEIVE has been added for registered copies. Not available in
the shareware demo version.

If using xmodem or 1K xmodem and you specify a filename already used, FT will
let you know about the overwrite condition and ask if you want to overwrite
or not. If using ymodem batch, it will still overwrite.

If you are executing a script and using xmodem/1Kxmodem transfers, it will
receive the same number of blocks it always did before a write to disk. BUT
if you are not using scripts, the script buffer will be used to enhance
transfer speed (too bad we have to live with SLOW floppies) and help
thruput. In this case, you will receive 5 blocks on 1K xmodem (or Ymodem batch)
and 64 blocks in normal xmodem.

Terminal Mode Changes

HOST mode has been completely removed. Sorry to those who used it a lot but the
same thing can now be written with scripts (and I have a script for a mini type
BBS for registered owners if they want it).

Capture buffer will now use any additional memory you may have in your system
up to about 900K of it (if you happen to have a 1meg expansion). I don't
know what you'll use to process that amount of information but the buffer will
store it. It also displays the amount of K (up to 900K) left in the buffer.

The area code on registered versions will be coded into your copy. So when you
select another area code it will use the real time clock setting you have in
the computer and calculate what the time is at the area code specified. It
doesn't know anything about "day light saving time" but it will give it to you
roughly.

Those are some of the changes made. I had to re-write about 15 pages of the
FastTerm II manual and delete some outdated information. So a new manual does
exist. Much has been added about scripting in the new manual. I have tried to
make it as much like Basic (sic) programming as I can so its easy to use and
learn.

In the shareware version I have removed ALL the protection in the scripts. You
have the full command set available. This to encourage people to try their
hand at writing scripts. I would ask that you use a standard extension when
writing script files to identify them. I use /SCR for script files.
