F
+-INTRODUCTION-+
F

F
This printer driver was written to make use of the mostpopular +EPSON - #GRAFTRAX$ *PLUS.+ printer features with theRadio Shack's new !SUPERSCRIPSIT" Word Processor Program.Itworks equally well on the Model I or Model III Computers.
F

F
The file name used to access the +EPSON+ driver is +EPSON/CTL+;although one could change it to any name with the /CTLextension.+EPSON/CTL+ was developed expressly for private usein the public domain and is not for commercial applicationor resale.Users are free to copy and distribute thisprogram for their non-commercial use.
F

F
If any user of +EPSON/CTL+ feels that its value has someMonetary substance, the Author would gladly accept amonetary remuneration of his choice. This may be sent to:

+-SETUP-+
F

F
Before +SUPERSCRIPSIT+ can be utilized with +EPSON/CTL+, the program must be placed on the +SUPERSCRIPSIT+ Disk under the+EPSON/CTL+ or equivalent file name with a /CTL extension. Then the OPEN DOCUMENT Setup must be edited to replace theexisting driver file (probably DW2) with +EPSON+.

F
+-SPECIAL PRINT FEATURES-+
F

F
+SUPERSCRIPSIT+ employs several !"SYSTEM PRINT"" Commands asoutlined on page 69 of the +SUPERSCRIPSIT+ Manual. The printerdriver for the +EPSON+ Printer uses two of these commands forequivalent +EPSON+ features; +DOUBLE STRIKE+ and -UNDERLINE-.Thetwo others, Double Underline and Strike Thru are changed to=EXPANDED= and /COMPRESSED/ Print respectively. The commandstructure is as follows:
F

F
     +-COMMAND- -OLD- -NEW-+
F

F
<CLEAR> + Double Strike Double Strike
F
    <CLEAR> - Underline Underline
F

F
nderline
F
<CLEAR> = Double Underline Expanded (WIDE) Print
F
<CLEAR> / Strike Thru Compressed Print
F

F
Note: The command Syntax retains the same Toggle action: <CLEAR> <CMD> (+ - = /) on first occurrence in the text, turns the feature ON; the second time turns the feature OFF.The following Examples serve to demonstrate:
F

F
DOUBLE STRIKE: <CLEAR> + +DOUBLE STRIKE+ <CLEAR> +
F

F
UNDERLINE: <CLEAR> - -UNDERLINE- <CLEAR> -
F

F
EXPANDED PRINT: <CLEAR> = =EXPANDED= <CLEAR> =
F

F
COMPRESSED PRINT: <CLEAR> / /COMPRESSED/ <CLEAR> /
F

F
Additionally the EXPANDED, COMPRESSED and NORMAL Print Modescan be selected at OPEN time by specifying the correspondingPitch as follows:
F

F
           -PITCH- -PRINT MODE-
F

F

F

F
+-SUBSCRIPTS/SUPERSCRIPTS-+
F

F
+EPSON/CTL+ has been written to use the new +GRAFTRAX+ *PLUS.features for .SUBSCRIPITS* and *SUPERSCRIPTS. in conjunctionwith the existing Subscript and Superscript commands. (seepage 72 of the +SUPERSCRIPSIT+ Manual).
F

F
The command structure is shown in the following examples:
F

F
     SUPERSCRIPTS: <CLEAR> * To *Superscript.
F
                   <CLEAR> . To Return
F

F
     SUBSCRIPTS: <CLEAR> . To .Subscript*
F
                   <CLEAR> * To Return
F

F
+-ADDITIONAL PRINTER COMMANDS-+
F

F
By use of the User Print Codes available in +SUPERSCRIPSIT'SSETUP+ utility (see page 108), the additional +EPSON+ PrinterCommands, #ITALICS$ and !EMPHASIZED" Print can be inserteddirectly into the text. This is done by assigning thefunction's appropriate print codes to the desired PrintFunction Control Keys. For example these instructions werepQ
