     aFTER REVIEWING THE cOMPANY PROPOSAL OF jANUARY 10, 1983, ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A NEW CLASSIFICATION FOR aPPENDIX "c" OF THE LABOR AGREEMENT, THE PERSONNEL OF THE rAD-cHEM GROUP PROPOSES THE FOLLOWING:

     1)  eSTABLISH TWO NEW JOB CLASSIFICATIONS TO BE CALLED sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 1 AND lEVEL 2.

     2)  rATE OF PAY TO BE:
         sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 1 (7/1/82-7/1/83) $14.00 /HOUR
                                            (7/1/83-7/1/84) $15.26 /HOUR
         sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 2 (7/1/82-7/1/83) $14.65 /HOUR
                                            (7/1/83-7/1/84) $15.97 /HOUR

     3)  aFTER NORMAL PROGRESSION TO rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN ch OVER 2 YEARS, rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN rp OVER 2 YEARS, OR roc OPERATOR OVER 1 YEAR, EMPLOYEES WILL BE ALLOWED TO TRAIN AND PURSUE QUALIFICATIONS IN EITHER OF THE OTHER TWO DISCIPLINES (ch-cHEMISTRY, rp-rADITION pROTECTION, OR roc-rADIOACTIVE wASTE).

     4)  iMMEDIATELY UPON QUALIFICATION AT THE JUNIOR LEVEL IN ONE ADDITIONAL DISCIPLINE THE EMPLOYEE WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS A sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 1 AND RECEIVE THE APPROPRIATE RATE OF PAY.  aFTER COMPLETING QUALIFICATION AT THE JUNIOR LEVEL IN THE THIRD DISCIPLINE, THE EMPLOYEE WILL BE CLASSIFIED AS A sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 2 AND RECEIVE THE APPROPRIATE RATE OF PAY.

     5)  uPON COMPLETION OF REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS TO OBTAIN EITHER LEVEL OF THE sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN CLASSIFICATION, EMPLOYEES WILL ROUTINELY BE ASSIGNED TO THEIR ORIGINAL DISCIPLINE AND ONLY WORK IN THE OTHER DISCIPLINES TO MAINTAIN PROFICIENCY AND FOR EMERGENCIES.  iF, AFTER QUALIFICATION, AN EMPLOYEE FOR ANY REASON FAILS TO MAINTAIN DEPARTMENTAL PROFICIENCIES, THEY SHALL BE DEMOTED TO THE SENIOR POSITION IN THEIR ORIGINAL DISCIPLINE AND SHALL HAVE TO COMPLETELY REQUALIFY TO RETURN TO THE sENIOR rAD-cHEM tECHNICIAN lEVEL 1 THEN lEVEL 2.
     
     6)  oVERTIME WILL BE ASSIGNED ACCORDING TO THE EMPLOYEE'S NORMAL DISCIPLINE.  hOWEVER, IN SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES, OVERTIME MAY BE ASSIGNED OUTSIDE THE NORMAL DISCIPLINE UNTIL AN EMPLOYEE FROM THE NECESSARY DISCIPLINE CAN BE ARRANGED.

     7)  aLL PROVISIONS OF THE EXISTING lABOR aGREEMENT WILL APPLY TO THESE POSITIONS.
