This is an example of a text being checked by HEXSPELL. The text scrolls up the screen as it is checked. When an error is detected, the place in the text where it was found is marked with an "*". The word in error is displayed at the bottom of the screen with the description "WORD IN ERROR". Some continuation text follows to give you the complete context. To deal with the error you have three choices. First, the word may be correct, but not in the word list. We may be using an odd spelling for effect, so though it is correct in this instance we wouldn't want to add it to the wordlist. The "S" key lets us skip over special words like this. For example "zoooom". Press "S" to skip this word. Secondly, if the word is a genuine error, we will wish to replace it. To replace a word press "R". You will then be asked to enter the correct word. Ensure that you are using lower case, type in the correct word, and press "Enter". Try "misstake". Press "R" then enter "mistake". The replacement word is checked again . If it is still in error you will get another chance to correct it. HEXSPELL will keep checking your replacement word until it gets one that is on its list. The list that comes with HEXSPELL is only a selection of the 200,000 words in a big dictionary. You will have to teach it the vocabulary that is special to your business or profession. This is simple. If HEXSPELL stops at a word that is correct, but not yet in the wordlist, press "L" to teach it the word. Try "madrigal". Press "L" and HEXSPELL will learn the word. HEXSPELL has room for 29,000 words on its list - a lot more than you are likely to use. We start you off with a selection of common and not so common words, and make it simple for you to teach HEXSPELL more words. You can even erase the wordlist and teach HEXSPELL a complete new language! These are the basic functions of HEXSPELL. Note that the text is displayed at a fast reading speed . We will insert a deliberate error at this point to stop the text moving. This is a deliberate errror. Press "S" to continue the demo. Displaying the text at reading speed allows you to combine your final read-through with the spelling check. Thus HEXSPELL takes almost no extra time at all! HEXSPELL has other features which we don't have room for on this demo. These include deleting words, skipping upper case words, "forgetting" unused words, memory optimization, quitting a document and processing a batch of documents. Ask your dealer for details. The reading speed of HEXSPELL is designed for texts with which you are familiar (you wrote them!). So we will put in another deliberate error to give you a chance to read this unfamiliar text, errror. Press "S" to finish the demo.
