XT4/CMD Version 1.6.8 Update 06/13/86
===================================================

XT4 has been updated since 1.6.7 with the following
changes.

1. The Logon/MacroKey output routine wait-for-character
is working better, will wait for 5 seconds without input
now before continuing. The whole set of special functions
are now tested and working as documented.

2. Three major bugs in the file transfer code have been
fixed in 1.6.8, which caused some weird problems:

    - Worst was that after an upload, the following download
(first file only) was trashed at the front.

    - Next worst was that the ABORT/CANCEL exit on download
would leave the file incomplete or unclosed. It now
      removes the fragment entirely.

    - Minor nuisance was the susceptability of the file
transfer to abort/cancel due to noise. The logic is
now that a CAN will abort the checksum mode, but it
requires two successive CAN to abort CRC mode. This
is consistent with the operation of abort itself within
XT4, that always sends two CANs, and with most BBS.

Support for XT4 is now via FreeWare. Most folks that have
already registered by contributing unsolicated funds have
sent $20-25, so the figure will be $20. This is for private,
non-commercial, single-user support registration. Commercial
use is still subject to arrangement with the author. Those
that can use the program without support, and have no interest
in participating in improvements to the program need not
worry--distribution of the .LQR file without alteration and
use of the program by private, non-commercial users is still
permitted and encouraged.

Planned improvements.

- Write to Disk (option W) with numerous options.

- Prompted Upload option for immediate or delayed start.

- Windows for file transfers from Terminal Mode!

- True generic MODEM specification for full control.

- Use of COM/DVR if already installed, as well as existing
  internal device driver if not.

- YMODEM-g, -k support with ZMODEM support to follow.
