DISKSYS/CMD will create a JCL file necessary to structure your system disk
for optimum effeciency. Parts of this documentation was taken from Logical
Systems Incorported (LSI) LSDOS 6.3 DOCS which first published the method
of structuring drives, and also Brian Bradley's article, "Clustering Files
For Efficient Access On Hard Drives," which first appeared in the
February 1988 issue of TRSLINK Magazine.

Clustering the /SYS files around the directory on your hard drive will
reduce access time to those frequently used files. LSI provides a method
for properly laying out a double-sided SYSTEM disk with the LS-DOS 6.3
upgrade that can also be used for your hard drive.

First of all, run DISKSYS/CMD and answer all prompts correctly. DISKSYS
will create a file called DISKSYS/JCL necessary to perform the structuring
on logical drive :0. Next, you need only type DO DISKSYS <ENTER> and
the JCL file will take it from there. You should understand how your DOS
works with regard to logical drives and have a firm understanding of the
BACKUP and COPY commands before using the JCL file.

Comments about DISKSYS should be sent to Mike Bailey @ FidoNet (10/210).
