################################################################ File Networks.doc To run lynx386 you will need some sort of a packet driver to send and receive information from the internet. We have included the necessary packet drivers for a dial in connection in the package you picked up off the internet. If you are using a network card, you will need to configure it to have a packet driver interface using software and/or configuration specific to your hardware. If you are not currently using your network card then you probably do not have a packet driver installed. Then we suggest trying a standard packet driver. These usually come with the card, but there are also many freely available on the internet. The Crynwr packet driver collection is available on CD-ROM, by mail, by FTP, by email, by UUCP and by modem. The drivers are distributed in three files: pktd11.zip, which contains most executables and documentation, pktd11a.zip, which contains the first half of the remaining files, and pktd11b.zip, which contains the second half of the remaining files. Its files are available by anonymous ftp in directories /SimTel/msdos and /SimTel/win3 from the primary mirror site OAK.Oakland.Edu (141.210.10.117) located in Rochester, Michigan, and from secondary mirror sites: The packet driver collection has its own directory devoted to it in the SimTel collection, msdos/pktdrvr. The drivers are there, along with a number of programs that use the packet drivers. World Wide Web (WWW) users may access the collections via this URLs: http://www.acs.oakland.edu/oak/SimTel-msdos.html Gopher users can access the collection through Gopher.Oakland.Edu. If you are already using your network card to connect to a Novell server they it is likely that you are running ODI drivers. You can use odipkt to create a virtual packet driver on top of your ODI driver. This package can be found at ftp://ftp.ula.ve/pub/inet96/course/t3/software/dos/. If you happen to be running token ring instead of ethernet, you should get oditrpkt which can also be found at the above address.
