==================================================================
The following information reflects changes made since the second
editions of the Delrina WinFax PRO Setup Guide and User's Guide
went to press, and should be reviewed prior to running WinFax.

Where applicable, these notes refer to specific sections in the
appropriate manual.

Note: If you have the third editions of the WinFax PRO manuals,
all issues in this readme are addressed in your manuals. You can
find the edition numbers on the title pages of the manuals.

WinFax online help can provide you with detailed information when
you need it most -- while you are using WinFax. To get help from
any dialog or window in WinFax, press F1.

Upgrading From WinFax LITE 4.x to a New \DATA Directory
-------------------------------------------------------
If you upgraded to WinFax PRO 4.0 from WinFax LITE 4.x, and chose
a new \WINFAX\DATA directory during the install, your existing
WinFax LITE phonebooks will not appear in WinFax PRO automatically.
However, you can create a new WinFax PRO phonebook and import the
recipient records from an existing WinFax LITE phonebook.

WinFax LITE 4.x shares the same phonebook format as WinFax PRO 4.0.
So when you import a WinFax LITE 4.x phonebook, choose WinFax PRO 4
as the import format.

For details on importing phonebooks, see page 7-19 of your WinFax PRO
User's Guide.

Using the WinFax OLE Template option with
Microsoft Word for Windows 6.0
-----------------------------------------
If you are creating an OLE cover page in WinFax using Microsoft
Word 6.0, select the Insert option in WinFax (Cover Page/OLE/
Insert). If you select Template instead of Insert, you will not
be able to close Word 6.0 and return to WinFax.

WINFAX.INI Considerations
-------------------------
If you delete your WINFAX.INI file at any time, most of the
WinFax program preference settings in the file are recreated
when you next run the program. However, the settings for graphic
importer filters and predefined stamps must be restored manually.

If you cannot import a supported graphic file into the WinFax Viewer
or Cover Page Designer, check to see that the following section is
included in your WINFAX.INI file. If this section is missing, copy
and paste these settings into your WINFAX.INI file.

[WinFax Importers]
Windows Bitmap (*.bmp)=BMP,DTIFLBMP.DLL,*.DIB;*.BMP
Windows Metafile (*.wmf)=WMF,DTIFLWMF.DLL,*.WMF

GEM Image (*.img)=IMG,DTIFLIMG.DLL,*.IMG
GEM Metafile (*.gem)=GEM,DTIFLGEM.DLL,*.GEM
Mac Paint (*.bin)=PNT,DTIFLPNT.DLL,*.BIN
Encap. Postscript (*.eps)=EPS,DTIFLEPS.DLL,*.EPS
Gr. Interchange (*.gif)=GIF,DTIFLGIF.DLL,*.GIF
WinFax (*.fxs)=FXS,DTIFLFXS.DLL,*.FXS

If you cannot load the predefined stamps that come with WinFax (they
are not listed in the Stamps dialog), check to see that the following
section is included in your WINFAX.INI file. If this section is
missing, copy and paste these settings into your WINFAX.INI file.

===============================

OK Stamp Removed (pages 5-28/8-26)
----------------------------------
The collection of stamp graphics installed with WinFax does not
include the OK stamp.

Using dBASE File As Phonebook Does Not Include Groups (page 7-6)
----------------------------------------------------------------
If you use an existing dBASE file (.DBF) to create a phonebook, the
group information from the existing phonebook will not be added.

If you require the group information from the existing phonebook,
import the recipient records instead. For details on importing
phonebook recipients, see page 7-19.

Importing .DBF Phonebook Files to Groups (pages 7-8/7-19)
---------------------------------------------------------
You cannot import a .DBF phonebook file into a group. If you
want to add an entire fax phonebook to a group, use drag and drop.
Click the first record in the phonebook and SHIFT-click on the
last record to select the entire phonebook. Drag the selected
records from the phonebook and drop them onto the group icon.
Since the records in a group must be repeated in the main
phonebook, you should create the group in the same phonebook to
which you want to fax.

Sorting Cover Pages (page 8-8)
------------------------------
The Cover Page menu and associated right click menu do not contain a
Sort command. To sort cover page folders alphabetically, you must click
the appropriate column heading in the list of cover pages. Click the
Description column heading to sort cover pages by description. Click
the Filename column heading to sort cover pages by filename.

Note: The sorting order you choose applies to all cover page folders.
To sort in reverse order (from Z to A), CTRL-click the
      appropriate column heading.

Recipient Variables Reusable in Fillable Text Objects (page 8-23)
-----------------------------------------------------------------
If you resubmit a fax that contains recipient variables in fillable
fields, the variables will reflect information for the resubmitted
event.

OCR Operating Requirements (page 9-2)
-------------------------------------
The minimum operating requirements for Optical Character Recognition
(OCR) should be listed as 8 MB of available memory (for example,
4 MB of RAM and a 4 MB Windows swap file).
