the CorelSCSI software.

To remove a patch

INSTALLING ASPI MANAGERS NOT PROVIDED WITH CORELSCSI PRO
========================================================

If the ASPI manager for your card isn't included with the
installation, you must install your card's ASPI manager and
load it in your CONFIG.SYS file before installing CorelSCSI.

To load an ASPI manager in your CONFIG.SYS file

1. Copy the ASPI manager from the diskette provided with your
   SCSI card to your hard drive.

2. Add the device driver line to the CONFIG.SYS file using
   the following syntax:

	 DEVICE=C:\xxxx.SYS

   where xxxx indicates the name of your ASPI manager.

3. Reboot the system before you start the CorelSCSI installation.
   While the system is rebooting, you should look for status
   messages from the ASPI manager. If the status indicates
   unsuccessful installation, the CorelSCSI device driver won't
   function.

ABOUT FUTURE DOMAIN HOST ADAPTER(S)
===================================

 TMC-950 HOST ADAPTER
 --------------------
 DCAM950 can support multiple adapters. The TMC-950 adapter requires
 that you specify the memory location of the adapter and the IRQ
 setting of the adapter using the following command line syntax:

     DEVICE=DCAM950.EXE /MEM IRQ [/MEM IRQ [/MEM IRQ]]

 The default setting for a single adapter looks like this:

     DEVICE=DCAM950.EXE /CA00 5

 Valid memory locations for the TMC-950 are CA00, C800, CE00 and DE00.

 Valid IRQ's are 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15.

 TMC-18XX HOST ADAPTER
 ---------------------
 The TMC-18XX host adapter does not require any command
 line settings:

   DEVICE=DCAM1800.EXE

  About the Corel TWAIN Device Driver
  -----------------------------------

  CorelSCSI Pro for Windows provides a device driver for scanning
  images into TWAIN-compliant graphics applications. This section
  provides information about how to improve the scanning speed of
  this device driver and how to use supplemental device drivers.

  You can improve the scanning speed of the Corel TWAIN device
  driver by pre-allocating memory.

  The program GRABMEM.EXE located in the WINDOWS\TWAIN\CORTWAIN
  directory pre-allocates a 32K block of memory.

  The program must be run before starting Windows. To run the
  program, you can place the following line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT:

    c:\windows\twain\cortwain\grabmem.exe

  You can also run the program by creating a batch file called
  WINSTART.BAT and placing the file in your WINDOWS directory.
  WINSTART.BAT must include the following lines:

    @echo off
    c:\windows\twain\cortwain\grabmem.exe

  Using Supplemental Device Drivers
  ---------------------------------

  Using supplemental device drivers, some other manufacturers'
  scanners can be supported. These device drivers are located in the
  WINDOWS\TWAIN\CORTWAIN\OEMTWAIN directory.

  The supplemental device driver takes the form of an MS-DOS device
  driver, often used in conjunction with the manufacturer's own device
  driver. Only one of these other scanners may be used at a time.

  CorelSCSI BACKUP
  ----------------

  The Catalog Files Path option in Preferences defines where
  catalog files created by the Backup utility are stored.
  If you change this location, you must restart the application
  before the new setting takes effect.

  CorelSCSI Backup can read tapes written with SY-TOS. If you
  want to restore tapes written with SY-TOS, you must add some
  information to the [CorelSCSI Backup] section of your
  CRLSCSI.INI file. This file is located in the CorelSCSI Pro
  installation directory.

  To restore SY-TOS tapes, add the following line:

     bSyTOS=1

  If the tapes were written with a version of SY-TOS later
  than version 1.32, you must also add the following:

     bSyTOS_132=0

  NOTE: You must remove these lines from the CRLSCSI.INI
  file if you want to restore tapes written with the Corel
  backup utilities CTBACKUP or WTBACKUP.

  When you format tapes using the Backup utility, you have the
  option of using error correction code. Only QIC tape drives
  support error correction code. If you aren't using a QIC tape
  drive, make sure that you don't mark the Error Correction Code
  selection box.

  Changes to the DBACKUP Command
  ------------------------------

  The command syntax for the CorelSCSI Pro for DOS DBACKUP command
  has changes since the Users' Manual was printed.

  The following switch has been added to the DBACKUP command syntax:

    /i<rhsa>

  This switch specifies the attributes to ignore. For example,

     /irs

  backs up all files except read-only and system files. By default,
  all files are backed up.

  The following DBACKUP switch has been changed:

    /d<path>

  This switch is now specified as

    /dp<path>
