IEF Workstation Toolset
OS/2 version 5.3.00156
Commercial Release

Product Notes: None.

Known Problems:

ISSUE 53537

Problem: Window Design -- The background color on a multiple line
entry field defaults to 255/255/204 but gets generated as
             204/204/204.

Workaround: Setting the background color for multiple line entry
controls does not work correctly in OS/2 v2.11 due to a
bug in the OS/2 presentation manager. The color
specified is not the color that is displayed. This
problem has been fixed in OS/2 v3.

ISSUE 53574

Problem: Retransformation -- After changing the size of a numeric
attribute receive error: ICCFI06E a packed field must implement
a non-text attribute of the same precision. This error message
is produced by the consistency check process that the toolset
performs just before the retransformation. Not an error in 5.2
            toolset.

Workaround: Limit size of attribute to 15. Fixed in first 5.3 levelset.

ISSUE 53584

Problem: Dialog Design -- On large models or subsets, renaming procedure
step have excessive response time. Response is comparable to
that in version 5.2 when using comparable models.

Workaround: Limit the size of model or subset. In a future release,
name access algorithms will be accelerated.
               Fixed in first 5.3 levelset.

ISSUE 53940

Problem: Window Design -- Deleting a cascaded menu which is at least
three deep which contains a separator at least two deep in
the menu causes an "Encyclopedia error: Object (-1) out of
            range" error.

Workaround: Enter Menu Design and remove the separator from the menu
               before deleting the menu.
               Fixed in first 5.3 levelset.

ISSUE 53993

Problem: Plotting -- IBM has introduced a bug into their plotters.drv
(Version 13.408) plotter device driver with the OS/2 2.1
CSD XR06200. Attempts to output IEF diagrams to plotter devices
will result in unreadable plots. Text will be incorrectly spaced
vertically resulting in overlapping and overwritten text. Title
areas on plots will be unreadable.

Workaround: IBM APAR PJ15838 describes the problem, but IBM has not
committed completion date for fixing the problem. The
               workaround is to use IBM's OS/2 plotters.drv (Version 13.380).
This version of the driver is packaged with OS/2 2.1
GA Release with no CSD applied.

ISSUE 54051

Problem: Action Diagram -- If an "event action" at the end of a
procedure step action diagram is selected, the move command
is selected and the first line of the procedure step is
selected as the destination of the move, a SYS3175 occurs.

Workaround: Since all event action groups occur at the end of a procedure
step, they can be rearranged but not moved into the body of
the procedure step action diagram. Therefore this move
attempt should have no effect. Don't pick the first line
of the procedure step as a destination.
               Fixed in first 5.3 levelset.
