IEF/GrAF Example Application and Tutorial - README.TXT

This diskette installs the following materials:

	1) IEF with GrAF Application Tutorial model. The IEF 
with GrAF Application Tutorial is a self-paced lab set starting 
with an IEF-only application and adding GrAF functionality to 
it step by step.  The starting IEF model (TRAINLAB.IEF) is 
installed in the IEF models directory you specify.

	2) IEF/GrAF Example Application.  Double click on the 
program icon in the GrAF program group to run this demonstration 
IEF application that uses GrAF for visualization.  The IEF model 
(GRAF_EX.IEF) is installed in the IEF models directory you 
specify. The Example Application also represents a solution 
set for the IEF with GrAF Application Tutorial.

TO INSTALL FOR USE UNDER WINDOWS 3.1:

	1. Insert the installation diskette in drive A.

	2. Select the Run... command from the File Menu of the 
	   Program Manager.

	3. Type A:\setup and select OK.

	4. Follow the instructions given by the 
	   installation procedure.

TO INSTALL FOR USE UNDER OS/2 2.1 (General Availability)

	1. Insert the installation diskette in drive A.

	2. Select WIN-OS/2 FULL SCREEN

	3. Select the Run... command from the File Menu of the
	   Program Manager.

	4. Type A:\setup and select OK.

	5. Follow the instructions given by the 
	   installation procedure.

To create an OS/2 desktop program icon for the IEF/GrAF 
Example Application: 

	1. Drag a Program icon from the OS/2 Templates 
	   folder to the OS/2 desktop.

	2. Use the Program settings given below (assuming 
	   you installed to C:\MODELS).

	Program      c:\models\graf_ex.ief\os2\graf_ex.exe
	Parameters   supplier first /db= 
		     /grafspec=c:\models\graf_ex.ief\graf_ex.grf
	Working Dir  c:\models\graf_ex.ief\os2

	3. Make sure there is a space after the /db= parameter.

	4. In the General settings, set the Title to:
	   IEF/GrAF Example

	5. Ensure C:\GRAF\LIB is on your PATH in OS/2's 
	   CONFIG.SYS file (assuming GrAF is installed in 
	   C:\GRAF).

	6. Ensure your OS/2 and WinOS/2 date formats are the same 
	   before running the IEF/GrAF Example Application 
 	   (otherwise the data may not show up in GrAF's Gantt 
	   view).  Check OS/2's date format in the International 
	   settings in OS/2's System Setup program.  Check the 
	   WinOS/2 date format in the Country settings of WinOS/2's 
	   Control Panel.  Make sure the date separator characters 
	   match and that both day and month leading zeros are 
	   checked in the WinOS/2 settings.
