GrAF Installation - README.TXT

GrAF Installation Notes

If the installation is an update to a previous version
of GrAF, the GrAF system should be shut down before the
installation procedure is executed. After installation
is complete you should reboot your system so that PATH
will reflect the changes made. After reboot the GrAF
system may be activated using the icons in the GrAF
	program group.

TO INSTALL GrAF UNDER OS/2 VERSION 2.1 (General Availability)

GrAF is a Windows application. You install it under WinOS/2
then migrate the program icon to the OS/2 desktop.

	1. Insert the GrAF installation diskette in drive A.

	2. Select WIN-OS/2 FULL SCREEN

	3. Select the Run... command from the File Menu of the
	   Program Manager.

	4. Type A:\setup and select OK.

	5. Follow the instructions given by the installation
	   procedure.

	6. Ensure the C:\GRAF\LIB directory is on your PATH in
OS/2's CONFIG.SYS file (assuming you installed GrAF
	   in C:\GRAF).

	7. Migrate the GrAF application to the OS/2 Desktop using
	   the C:\GRAF\LIB\DATABASE.DAT migration database. The
"Migrate Applications" icon is normally found under the
"System Setup" utilities in the "OS/2 System".
When "Migrate Applications" comes up, the default
migration database in the "Database Used for Find
Option" typein window should be changed to
C:\GRAF\LIB\DATABASE.DAT, then press the Find button.
The program will generate a list of applications
in a "Migrate Programs" window. Select the
"GrAF (Windows)" item and press the Migrate button to
migrate it. (See the OS/2 documentation for further
	   information on the Migration facility.)

The migrated GrAF icon brings up a new, untitled GrAF environment.
If you wish to generate a GrAF Icon associated with a specific
GrAF specification (such as the Demos and TechNotes GrAF application
icons created in the WinOS/2 GrAF Program group):

	A. Generate a duplicate of the GrAF Icon with the
	   desired name.

	B. Open the settings of the duplicate Icon and set the
Parameters field to the full pathname of the desired
	   GrAF specification.
