New features
============
5.3.3 software is designed for the Mountain TD-350 and TD-700
drives only. The TD700 follows the QIC-3010 standard and requires
MC3000 or MC3000XL tape cartridges for write operations. While
the TD350 supports both 2120 and 2120XL write operations and
reads 2080 tapes.

Restrictions
============

Tape Spanning
--------------------
This software supports spanning of like tapes and is only tested
with like tapes.

MS-DOS 6.0's DoubleSpace and other disk compression utilities
-------------------------------------------------------------
If you are using disk compression utilities such as DoubleSpace,
Stacker, or SuperStor PRO, please choose the Selective Backup method
over the Image Backup method. This is because disk compression utilities
create hidden files for the compressed volume which may be stored under a
different disk drive letter. Therefore, Image Backup of a single drive
letter may not contain all of the data.

NetWare shell version 3.02
--------------------------
Novell's NetWare workstation shell version 3.02 causes a backup
to stop when encountering a file that is open or locked. The backup
will not continue until the file is closed or unlocked.
You must upgrade to a more current version in order to avoid this
problem. Contact Novell or your NetWare dealer to obtain more
current workstation shells.

On-Demand Formatting
--------------------
The Tape software automatically formats additional tape without
user intervention whenever necessary to complete an ongoing backup.
You no longer need to be concerned with completely pre-formatting
tape cartridges.

Avalanche 16-bit Accelerator
----------------------------
Mountain's new 16-bit Avalanche board doubles the speed of most
floppy port tape drives, giving a data transfer rate of 1,000 Kbps.
The default DMA channel as shipped from the factory is DMA channel 3.
If you change this default on the Avalanche board, you MUST use
the Utilities Install menu to modify the DMA Channel setting. CHKTAPE
will NOT detect the change.
