This document contains important late-breaking information you should know
about running Thinkin' Things Collection 2. Please read it carefully to
avoid any potential problems.

INSTALLING FROM MICROSOFT WINDOWS:
After installing from Microsoft Windows, you will need to restart
Windows in order for the Edmark group and Thinkin' Things Collection 2
    program icon to appear.

RUNNING THINKIN' THINGS 2 FROM KIDDESK FAMILY EDITION:
If you chose "Let Thinkin' Things 2 use my Windows sound configuration" in
the Thinkin' Things 2 installer, add TT2W.EXE to KidDesk Family Edition.

If you chose "Suspend Windows while running Thinkin' Things 2" in the
Thinkin' Things 2 installer, add TT2.EXE to KidDesk Family Edition and
choose the "Run from DOS" option.

If you chose "Run Thinkin' Things 2 directly from Windows" in the Thinkin'
Things 2 installer, add TT2.EXE to KidDesk Family Edition.

If you want to associate Thinkin' Things 2 with a KidDesk Family Edition
desktop accessory, you will need to use the following in the accessory
    run line:
        DOS C:\TT2\TT2.EXE
If necessary, replace "C:\TT2" with the appropriate drive letter and
    Thinkin' Things 2 directory.

USING YOUR WINDOWS SOUND CONFIGURATION:
If you have difficulties running Thinkin' Things 2 using your Windows sound
configuration and other applications provide sound when running through
Windows, you will need to do one of the following:
    1) Run the Thinkin' Things 2 install program and choose the "Suspend
Windows while running Thinkin' Things 2" install option.
    or
    2) Contact your sound card manufacturer and upgrade your sound card's
Windows drivers to the newest version.

VESA INFORMATION:
The Snake and 2-3D BLOX modules require VESA video support to run. If you
are having problems running those modules, switch to the Thinkin' Things 2
directory and type VESAINFO to verify whether or not you have a VESA driver
installed.

If VESAINFO reports that you have a VESA driver, you still may need to obtain
a more recent VESA driver from the manufacturer of your video card.

If VESAINFO reports that you do not have a VESA driver:
    1) Note the type of video card VESAINFO thinks you might have.
    2) The Easy Installation steps will work for most users. If you are an expert
user please refer to the Expert Installation section for more details

 EASY INSTALLATION:

    1) Type "SETVESA" followed by the name VESAINFO specified.
(for example: "SETVESA Cirrus" - Case is important!)
    2) Follow the on-screen instructions.

NOTE: If you need to return to your old configuration, simply type the following
       and then re-boot your computer:
       COPY c:\autoexec.vsa c:\autoexec.bat

EXPERT INSTALLATION: For advanced users only.

NOTE: Before making any changes to your configuration files, it is important to
make a backup and be sure to have a boot-disk. For detailed instructions
on making Backups and Boot-Disks, please see your MS-DOS users guide.

    1) Find a VESA driver by doing one or more of the following:
     A) Change to the VESA sub-directory in your Thinkin' Things directory and
search for a driver directory with the same video card name as reported by
the VESAINFO program. Once you find this directory, change to it and read
any README.TXT file present. If the name of the driver ends in COM or EXE,
load it by typing its name. If the name ends in anything else, load it by
adding a "DEVICE=DriverName" line to your CONFIG.SYS file (where DriverName
is the full pathname of the VESA driver, for example
     C:\TT2\VESA\MFGR\VESA.SYS and restarting your computer.
     or
     B) Change to the VESA\UNIVESA directory in your Thinkin' Things directory
and type UNIVESA. This will load a universal VESA driver that supports a
wide range of VESA-compliant video cards.
     or
     C) Contact your video card manufacturer to receive the lastest VESA drivers
specifically created for your video card.

Once you have located a driver and verified that it works, you should change
your computer's configuration so the driver loads each time you turn on your
    computer:

    1) If the name of the driver ends in EXE or COM, you should add the full
pathname of the driver (for example C:\TT2\VESA\CIRRUS\CLVESA.COM) to
a new line in your AUTOEXEC.BAT file.
    2) If the name of the driver ends in anything else, you should add a
"DEVICE=DriverName" line to your CONFIG.SYS file (where DriverName is the
full pathname of the VESA driver, for example C:\TT2\VESA\MFGR\VESA.SYS).

See your operating system manual for more information on loading drivers.
