Grammar Games Version 1.0 News!
-------------------------------

Congratulations on your purchase of Davidson's Grammar Games! To
supply you with up-to-the-minute information, we have included the 
following comments. (Note: If you are reading this text in Windows 
Notepad, please maximize the window.)


Video
-----
Some Windows video drivers may cause erratic behavior under certain 
conditions. If you experience any unusual screen activity, switch
to the standard VGA mode from the Program Manager or other available
drivers supplied with your video card. 


To change your video mode:

1.  From the Program Manager, double-click the Windows Setup icon 
    in the Main group.
2.  From the Options menu on the Windows Setup box, select Change
    System Settings. 
3.  Click the arrow to the far right of the word "Display".
    You will see a list of video drivers.
4.  Scroll through the list until you see the word "VGA".
5.  Double-click "VGA" and follow any screen prompts.
    Windows may ask you to insert a disk(s) that came with 
    your original Windows package.
6.  Restart Windows to activate the new video mode.

For more information about video drivers, please consult your Windows
documentation.


If You Receive an Insufficient Memory Message or the Program is Very Slow
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Close any unnecessary applications, that may be running.  If you have a 
386 or faster processor, be sure you are running Windows in enhanced mode.
Also be sure that the Virtual memory settings are active. To check the 
Virtual memory settings:

1.  Click on the Control Panel Icon from the Main Menu.
2.  Click on the 386 Enhanced Icon.
3.  Click on the Virtual memory button and verify that the Type is 
    Permanent and the size is 6000Kb or greater.
4.  To change to the settings, click the Change button.  Choose the Type 
    to be Permanent, and the size should be the maximum recommended size.
    If this size is already at maximum, consult your Windows documentation
    for further information.
5.  Click the OK button.  Click the Yes button to make the changes to 
    Virtual Memory.  Restart Windows to use your changed Virtual Memory.


	
PC Tools VSAFE and MS-DOS VSAFE Users
-------------------------------------

PC Tools VSAFE or MS-DOS 6.0 VSAFE may interfere with the install process. 
To disable VSAFE before installing Grammar Games, exit Windows and type 
VSAFE /U, then press Enter. 

Restart your computer after installation of Grammar Games to turn PC Tools
VSAFE or MS-DOS VSAFE back on.



Tandy Sensation Users
---------------------

Tandy's WinMate system does not automatically create the Grammar Games 
icons or launch our program. We suggest disabling WinMate and running 
directly from Windows. If you have further questions about Tandy's WinMate, 
please call Tandy Technical Support at (817) 878-6875.

Kid Desk Users
--------------
You may experience some problems with background (Midi) music.  We
recommend that you do not run Grammar Games through Kid Desk.

Uninstall
---------

Uninstall can be used to completely remove all "Grammar Games" files
and subdirectories as well as the program group and GRAMMAR.INI files.

To uninstall "Grammar Games":

o	Insert Disk#1 or your CD into the correct drive.
o	From File Manager, click on the correct drive letter.
o	From File Manager, choose File - Run and type "SETUP UNINSTALL".

If you encounter an error message while running uninstall:

o	Check to see that all user created files have been 
	removed from the Grammar Games subdirectory. Uninstall 
	will not delete files created by the user.  User files will 
	have the extension ".rec".

o	Check to see that the file "GRAMMAR.INI" exists in 
	your Windows directory and that the line "Program=" 
	points to the GRAMMAR directory on your hard drive.

To delete all "Grammar Games" files manually:

o	Run the Windows File Manager (or other third party 
	file utility) and highlight the "GRAMMAR" directory. 
	Then choose File Delete from the menu options.

o	Locate the file "GRAMMAR.INI" in the Windows directory and
	delete it.

o	From Program Manager (or third party shell) highlight 
	the "Grammar Games" program group (while minimized) and 
	choose File Delete.
