Thank you for selecting Total Access Speller, the Spell Checker
for Microsoft Access Databases!

This file contains the latest information on Total Access Speller,
including additions and corrections to the manual. Several new
features and performance enhancements were added after the manual
was written.

Total Access Speller Versions
================================
Single User Version
The enclosed program is the single user version of Total Access
Speller. It can be installed on a network, but only one user
can use it at a time.

Network 5-Pack
A network 5-Pack is available that allows installation of Total
Access Speller in a network directory with up to five simultaneous
users. Additional user counts may also be purchased.

Runtime License
A runtime license is available for developers wishing to incorporate
Total Access Speller features into their Access applications for
distribution to non-Total Access Speller owners. Rather than
purchasing a separate copy or user count for each user, a runtime
license is available to allow an unlimited, royalty free distribution
of Total Access Speller. This version does not include the
interactive Total Access Speller Wizard and only allows your
invocation of the Total Access Speller function from your form.

Foreign Versions
Foreign dictionaries for Total Access Speller are also available.
Please contact us for specific languages.

Enhancements
================================
Total Access Speller now optionally flags doubled-words, such as "to to"
and "the the" for checking.

The Spell Dictionary Utility can now export words from your custom
dictionaries into an ASCII text file for editting and reloading.

The new status bar at the bottom of the screen displays help messages
as the mouse is passed over the buttons on the form.

When the Spell Check Dialog is called programmatically, buttons that
don't apply (such as Change This Column) are hidden.

Sample Databases
================================
Two sample databases are included with Total Access Speller. The
samples TASDEMO.MDB and TASDEMO2.MDB show how to use the
programmatic interface to Total Access Speller. TASDEMO.MDB is
created if you installed Access 1.x support. TASDEMO2.MDB is the
same database in Access 2.0 format.

Note: If you are using the programmatic interface, be sure to use
the ACTUAL control name, not the underlying column name, if they
are different. For example, the column name might be Notes, but the
control name could be anything, including names such as Field155, or
txtNotes. Use the CONTROL name in the call to Total Access Speller.

The FMS Spell Dictionary Utility
================================
The installation includes a utility program SPDICUTL.EXE which you
can use to convert an ASCII flat-file word list into a Total Access
Speller custom dictionary. For example, you could use this utility
to convert a Word for Windows custom dictionary file into a Total
Access Speller custom dictionary.

SPDICUTL.EXE is a Windows-based program. You can run the program by
double-clicking its name in the Windows File Manager, or by starting
it from Program Manager with the following command:

  File, Run, C:\TASPELL\SPDICUTL.EXE

For details on how to use SPDICUTL.EXE, see the on-line help file
SPDICUTL.HLP, or press the "Help" button from the main SPDICUTL form.

Manual Corrections
================================
The following corrections should be made to the Total Access Speller
Manual. The changes are already in the on-line help system. In cases
where the manual conflicts with the on-line help, the information
in the on-line help takes precedence:

pg. 26 - "...beneath the Add Word To drop-down list box"

Change to: "...beneath the Add Word to box"

pg. 26 - The paragraph beginning "Custom dictionaries are..." is
incorrect and should be replaced with the following text:

For faster performance, custom dictionaries use a special
compressed format. You may convert an existing word list,
such as a Word for Windows custom dictionary file, into a
Total Access Speller custom dictionary by using the FMS
Spell Dictionary Utility tool installed in your \TASPELL
directory. The program is named SPDICUTL.EXE. See the
SPDICUTL.HLP file for more details on using this utility
  program.

pg. 33-34 - The graphic does not match the actual Total Access
Speller Options dialog box. To improve performance, the case
sensitive and ignore pure numbers options are not supported in
Total Access Speller. Spelling is checked regardless of case,
and pure numbers are always ignored. The Double Word Check
option has been added.

pg. 35 - Graphic captioned "Select the Custom Dictionary from
Microsoft Word for Windows".

Total Access Speller cannot use Word for Windows .DIC files
directly. You can convert a Word for Windows *.DIC file into a
Total Access Speller custom dictionary with the supplied FMS
  Spell Dictionary Utility SPDICUTL.EXE.

pg. 39 - In the table following the line "The following table..."
the option setting for position 5 should be "Not Used." Position
3 is now used to set the "Double Word Check" option.

The option for column position 5 is not used in Total
Access Speller. You may enter either a "T" or an "F" in this
column, but the value is ignored.

In the line "This parameter sets all Total Access Speller options
except for 'Ignore Full Caps' and 'Case Sensitive'"

Change to: "This parameter sets all Total Access Speller options
except for 'Ignore Full Caps'"

pg. 45 - The table listing Total Access Speller files is missing
four entries. The complete corrected table is:
