  ͻ
   1 Requirements
  ͼ

If installing to a network, you must be logged onto the network as
an ADMIN, SYSOP, or OFFICEADMN to install the patch.
For network installation, at least 600 KB of free disk space is
needed to install the patch.
This patch cannot be installed to a floppy diskette because of the
increased size of the new sound files.

  ͻ
   2 Installation
  ͼ

This update modifies or installs the following files:

  b1sound.sid
  b1sound.sdb
  b1.exe
  sndwrppr.com
  emmcls.bat
  emmb1.bat
  netaud.cfg
  emwm_l1.cfg
  netaud.exe
  lwdrv.exe
  sb4dapi.exe
  lwdrva.exe
  lwdigi.exe
  int4dapi.com
  ps14dapi.com
  mw4dapi.com
  g.bat (standalone only)

Updates to these files fix the following problems:

  1) A problem with sound on 386 Model 25 (powerbooster) machines
using the Exploring Base Ten program. The voice used in the
program without this update patch is unintelligible. The
sampling rate of the new sound files is 4.8KHz.

  2) There is also a design change in the Trading Game submenu. The
"end of activity" screen now displays which level the student
     worked in.

  3) This patch also fixes a problem with teachers being able to set
bookmarks for students. The problem occurs in the "Use the
Student Menu" submenu in the Class Management Options. It is
only a problem in IBM Classroom LAN Administration System
     versions 1.41 and greater.

  4) Included in this patch is a change from NETSOUND.EXE to
NETAUD.EXE. These utilities are responsible for loading speech
drivers. New versions of some speech drivers are included as
     well.

IMPORTANT: At some point you must check the z:\public directory for
IBM Classroom LAN Administration System version files (CLSV?.??).
If there is more than one of these, delete all but the highest
version. Many products check this file to determine which
version of IBM Classroom LAN Administration System is installed.
Multiple version files can cause confusion.

NOTE: Do NOT apply patch version 1.01 after installing this patch.
