SETUP NOTES
===========

Microsoft does not support using this Microsoft At Work(TM) Fax Desktop Software with Microsoft Mail version 3.2 for PC Networks Windows client.

===========
Windows 95
===========

- If you plan on using MS Mail and PC Fax 1.1 under Windows 95, you must first download the file AWFAXFIX.ZIP from CompuServe WINBTU forum/Fixes and Updates section. Please follow the instruction on how to install that fix before attempting to use PC Fax 1.1 under Windows 95.

- The standard Windows 95 setup may not warn you that there is not enough memory to run Exchange, but once Exchange is installed, PCFax cannot be installed properly. The user has to install Windows 95 without Exchange in order for PCFax 1.1 to work properly.

- Setup no longer launches the control panel fax applet, so the user has to manually do this to add fax device before running MSMail.

- When trying to connect to a network fax server, the user can no longer browse the network from within the fax applet. The user needs to connect to the shared fax from Explorer or the MS-DOS prompt first and then select the drive letter from the fax applet.

- After connecting to a netfax server, the network path is no longer shown in the listbox. This is normal when running under Windows 95.

- Installing PC Pax 1.1 while running Windows 95 (as opposed to upgrading from WFWG) does not give the user local modem capabilities. There is no woraround for this, you must first install WFWG and then upgrade to Windows 95 to get local modem support under PC Fax 1.1.

NOTE: PC Fax 1.1 will only connect to a Windows 95 net fax server if it's running at least build 462.

Known Problems
==============

-If you are installing from a network to Norton Desktop for Windows, you will see some errors complaining that some program items are not properly set. This is due to the fact that the applications in the windows directory are not available since the current drive has been set to the network. Set your drive back to your local drive and everything should work fine.

-When upgrading to Windows 95, the fax driver has to be reset in the Control Panel in order to make MSMAIL work again. To do so, run the fax applet in the Control Panel and then select CLOSE.

-When selecting a connection type, please do not use the Microsoft At Work fax driver. Selecting this will result in an error: "Can't find AWNFAX.DLL". The Microsoft At Work Fax driver is not intended to be used in this release.

-Using PC Fax 1.1 on WFWG 3.11 as a fax server to Windows 95 fax clients is not supported with this release.
