New Backup VxD's for Builds 337 and 342 of Windows 95

The two VxD files in this zip file can be used to avoid a bug when using
the Windows 95 backup applet with a tape drive connected to the primary
floppy disk controller. This bug is hard to diagnose as will be
described below, but it occures on new PC's which have super I/O chip
sets (the floppy disk controller, serial, parallel port, game port, and
keyboard contoller are all on a single chip). Most Pentium computers
and some newer 486 computers have these chip sets.

After starting any type of tape operation, including detecting a tape
change, or just detecting the current tape when Backup is first started,
machines with this problem will get either on-screen error messages or
error messages in the log.txt file which are "invalid tape header,
unknow error, unknow error in tape manager, unknown error in memory
manager, drive communications error, etc."

NOTE that people with older machines will see a performance improvement
if they install these new VxD's.

To install:

1. copy qic117.vxd to windows\system
2. copy vfbackup.vxd to windows\system\vmm32
3. REBOOT your machine
4. Try to reproduce your Backup bugs.

Let us know ASAP if you see any new bugs which you were not seeing
before using these new VxD files.
