INSTRUCTIONS FOR UPDATING YOUR XINGIT! SOFTWARE

The XNGT11D directory contains everything you need to run Xingit!
version 1.1d-BETA. Simply add this directory to your environment's PATH
variable (and make sure that no other directories containing Xingit's
DLLs are in your PATH).

If you are planning to use Xingit!'s MCI or AVI driver, use Windows'
DRIVERS control panel applet to install the drivers from the XINGIT
directory or run the XMCIAVI.EXE program that resides in the
MPEGVIEW.EXE zip file.

The directory MCIDOCS contains some preliminary documentation of
the MCI STRINGS supported by Xingit!'s MCI driver.

NOTES TO XINGIT! VERSION 1.1D-BETA

Version 1.1d-BETA features the following changes to version 1.1a:
- the Xingit! program has been modified to work properly with
  SoundBlaster16 audio cards (previous versions experienced intermittent
  sound recording dropouts in the presence of SoundBlaster16 cards);
- new AVI driver featuring a DIB display mode and compatibility with Video
  for Windows version 1.1;
- new MCI driver that fixes numerous problems;
- high-color direct drivers for the ET4000 chipset;
- brightness and color saturation controls for video capture (an extra
  jumper must be placed on pins 1 and 2 of the five-pin feature selector
  at the top of the Xingit! card for these controls to work);
- expanded feedback during the capture process.

Please remember that this is an unreleased, BETA-test version of Xingit!,
and we will appreciate any feedback you can give us.
