Default WinGopher Server
------------------------
The default WinGopher Server is wingopher.notis.com. To change this
default server, select Server Information from View/Change Options
from the Options menu.

Helper Applications
-------------------
Helper Applications are programs that WinGopher launches to display
files and run telnet sessions. WinGopher includes three helper
applications as defaults. The WinGopher Text Viewer is the default
text viewer, Media Player is the default audio player, and WinGIF
is the default GIF viewer.

NOTE: WinGIF is a shareware package developed by SuperSet Software
Corp. If you plan to keep WinGIF as your GIF Viewer software, see
the About box in WinGIF for cost and address information.

You define programs as Helper Applications through the Helper
Application dialog available in View/Change Options from the Options
menu. WinGopher allows you to define the following types of Helper
Applications:

Text Viewer	any word processor or text display program
	Telnet Program	any telnet software
	TN3270 Program	any TN3270 software
GIF Viewer	any graphics software that reads GIF and
			JPEG files
WAV Player	any sound driver software that can play
   			files in the WAV format
AVI Player	any video driver software that can play
 			files in the AVI format

NOTE: All Helper Applications associated with WinGopher must be
Windows compatible software.

Known Bug
---------
If WinGopher cannot connect to its main server at startup time, a
dialog box appears asking if you would like to try another host.
If you answer 'Yes' you are brought to the View/Change Options window,
where you can type in a new server to connect to. Unfortunately,
clicking on the 'Go' or 'Save & Go' buttons will not connect you to the
new server. To do so, you must use the Quick Connect option under the
File menu. To change your startup server for future sessions, select
View/Change Options under the Options menu.

Installing WinGopher on a Network
---------------------------------
If you are a Network Administrator and you are installing WinGopher
onto a network, see the text file NETWORK.TXT on this disk for
installation instructions.
