WinGopher Network Installation Instructions
-------------------------------------------
WinGopher can be installed in two ways:
	A. For a single user using a:\setup
	   OR
	B. For multiple users on a network using a:\setup network

See README.TXT for information on installing WinGopher for a
single user. Novell users should read the information at the bottom
of this text file.

To install WinGopher onto a network:
------------------------------------

	1. Insert WinGopher Disk 1 into a 3.5 inch floppy drive.

	2. Choose Run from the Program Manager File menu.

	3. In the text box type:	a:\setup network
(or type b:\setup network if the disk is in the B drive).

	4. Click OK.

This starts the WinGopher Install application. This
process will install WinGopher, as well as extra files
which will allow a client to install and run WinGopher
	   from the directory you choose.

	5. Once WinGopher is installed on the network, a client
is able to install and run WinGopher from the network
	   drive.

For a user to install and run WinGopher from the drive you selected,
he or she must run SETUP.EXE from that drive. For example, if you
installed WinGopher on J:\PROGRAMS\WINGOPH, your user would type
the following in Run from the Program Manager File menu:
	J:\PROGRAMS\WINGOPH\SETUP

When the setup is complete, it will create the WinGopher group under
Program Manager.

For most users, the following icons are included in the WinGopher
group:
	WinGopher
	WinGopher Image Viewer
	WinGopher Help
	WinGopher Telnet
	WinGopher FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

If you are running Novell, the following icons are included:
	WinGopher
	WinGopher Image Viewer
	WinGopher Help

Installation Information for Novell Users
-----------------------------------------
As WinGopher is being installed, the program checks to see if a
Novell stack is present. If so, the WinGopher telnet software is
not copied and the Novell telnet program is used.

Next, WinGopher checks to see if the Novell telnet executable is
present. This file is called PRESENTR.EXE. Because this file
requires two arguments to launch, WinGopher searches for the
second argument called COMMON.PHP. This file IS included with
the Novell multi-user pack, but it is NOT included with the Novell
single-user pack. This means that if the Novell single-user pack
is installed, COMMON.PHP is needed by the WinGopher setup.

To solve this, WinGopher is shipped with a copy of the file
COMMON.PHP. This file is copied only when PRESENTR.EXE is found
without the corresponding COMMON.PHP file.

The COMMON.PHP file will be copied to the WINGOPH directory as
WINGOPH.PHP. Thus, for a Novell installation where the COMMON.PHP
file is already present, the Telnet Options line in View/Change
Options will show the telnet path as:
	[Drive letter]:\NET\BIN\PRESENTR.EXE COMMON.PHP /HOST

while in a Novell installation where the user's COMMON.PHP file
could not be found, the Telnet Options would be:
	[Drive letter]:\NET\PRESENTR.EXE J:\WINGOPH\WINGOPH.PHP /HOST
