Version 1.7.4

HYPERBIBLE INSTALLATION:
Microsoft Windows 3.1 must be installed on your hard disk
prior to HyperBible installation. During the HyperBible
installation process, HyperBible King James and Asymetrix Toolbook
(Runtime version) are installed on your hard drive.

The software enclosed has been stored to diskette using
compression software. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO INSTALL USING THE DOS
COPY COMMAND. HyperBible will occupy about 15.5 MB of disk space
on your hard disk (if fully installed with 1 addon translation),
and Toolbook will occupy about 500K.

As a rule of thumb, you should always leave about 10%
of your hard disk space empty to allow for proper functioning of
Windows, Toolbook and HyperBible.

To install the software on your hard disk, first make backup
copies of the disks. Next, insert the HyperBible Setup Disk.
Then type:

C:\>Win A:HBSETUP
or
C:\>Win B:HBSETUP
(if you are using a second floppy drive)

HBSETUP is an application, running under Windows, that
installs Toolbook and HyperBible on your hard drive. A
dialog box initially appears allowing you to select a
pathname of where you want HyperBible to be installed on
your hard disk. The default is

C:\HYPERBIB.

Also in this dialog box, you have the option of selecting a
complete installation, or a partial installation of HyperBible.
If you wish a partial installation, you should deselect the
portions you will not be using. The default is a complete
installation. The software will prompt you for each disk in the
set. When the installation is complete a dialog box asks you if
you would like to view README.TXT (this document), which contains
updated information on your version of HyperBible.

RUNNING HYPERBIBLE
There are several different ways you may open HyperBible:

From the DOS prompt . . .
You may create a batch file to automatically open HyperBible
when you open Windows.

>cd\HYPERBIB
>WIN HB.TBK
>C\

From within Windows . . .
1. You may open HyperBible by using the Run... command
located under the File Menu. Use the following pathname.
\HYPERBIB\HB.TBK
2. Or you may open HyperBible by using the File Manager to
access the HYPERBIB subdirectory and double clicking on the
HB.TBK file (or any of the .TBK files).
3. Or you may double click on the HyperBible group icon,
found in the Program Manager, then double click on the
HyperBible icon.

For Advanced Windows Users . . .
You may add \HYPERBIB\HB.TBK to the WIN.INI file under
either the Run or Load section. HyperBible will then
automatically start whenever you open Windows.

WORD PROCESSING INTERFACE
The word processing preference setting is handled through a
simple dialog box which requests a full DOS path name for
where you keep your word processor. The default is

C:\WINDOWS\WRITE.EXE.

The Windows clipboard is fully supported, so Windows-based
word processors such as Write, Word for Windows, and Ami
Professional should have no problem using the clipboard
interface. If you use a non-Windows word processor, simply
export text through Write or another ASCII word processor,
then import the files it creates into your word processor
for final document formatting and printing.

SPECIAL NOTE FOR AMI PRO AND WORD PERFECT USERS
When interfacing with some word processors, it may be more expedient
to start the word processing software before starting Hyper Bible.
Then, use CTRL+ESC to view the Windows Task List. Use the name from
the Windows task for your Word Processor name under Set Word Processor.
This will ensure that HyperBible will not open a new document each
time you switch to your word processor.

COMMON PROBLEMS
If you have difficulties with the installation, you should
turn off any TSR (memory resident) software on your system,
and any screen saver software before installing HyperBible.
These can be re-enabled after installation is complete.

After installation, if HyperBible does not seem to be
functioning properly, check to see that all the files were
installed properly. You may do this by comparing the
contents of the HYPERBIB subdirectory (accessed in Windows
via the File Manager) to the following list.

contents of the HYPERBIB subdirectory on your hard drive,
you should reinstall HyperBible.
