Just a little commentary about MKIII..

It's truly disturbing to hear that Midway would even consider releasing
multiple versions of the game in different areas. Think about this - The
game is going to be released (Supposedly) around May, and EGM states that
the home versions will be released around October or November. If this
is even remotely correct, then what version of the arcade will the home
one be based on? Or will they relase multiple HOME games as well?
Rediculus in my honest opinion.

I don't want to see any type of Killer Instinct crossover. Let KI be in
it's own class without disturbing the effect MK has on it's players. If
they wanted a crossover, it should have been done in KI, NOT MK!!!

The characters that I believe MUST return in this version are:

Jax, Kitana, Sub-Zero, Kung-Lao, Liu Kang, and Johnny Cage.

I like the fact that Kano and Sonya are returning, but I don't see the
relevance in thier appearence.

As for hidden Characters -

Make ERMAC real! It would be pretty awesome to see a RED version of the
                  Ninja's eh?

Flame, Torch, Inferno - That dude in the back of the PIT II screen is
A must, as everyone thought that he was some
                         Sort of hidden entity.

Scorpion - Someone mentioned this in he A.G.MK, and I think it was a good
Idea - Have scorpion come out in some point in the game after
Fighting Sub-Zero, (And meeting necessary joystick requirements)
And enhance all of his powers, making him the ultimate guardian
Of Subby, As vowed in his ending in MKII...

A raiden type character (Like the one in the living forest) With some Funky
                        new outfit... Who knows..

GORO!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, I say to make every backround have it's own fatality...
Animalities? Uhlm... Sounds too corny.. Friendships are enough!

Nudealities? Uhlm.. Only for the pediphiles..

-------------------------------------------------

I guess the last thing on my Mortal Kombat III wish list would be to have
it cost ONLY 50cents! These rumors about KI being 75cents is pretty
disgraceful.. The game is good and all, but 75cents is out of the ballpark..

But those are just my opinions...

I think having the different versions of MK3 on the east coast, than on the
West coast...SUCKS! It's up to us to decide what's fun and what's not, not
Midway...Money hungry bastards is what they are....I think most of the fun
comes from getting the moves off of the net, and then going to your local
arcade and WOWing everyone with stuff they don't know of yet. I really don't
think I'll be "into" it as much as I was MK1 & 2 if they do this for sure.
What are they trying to do?? Make everything incompatible like PC's are??
Not a good move, in fact...this move I will say is the worst thing the
company will (might) do.

Thanks for listening.

(Please send to Midway)

Hey, issue #2 was pretty cool!
That guy that said people on the 'net who share ideas are hurting
themselves obviously doesn't have 'net access. He's probably just
jealous.........:)
Are you going to have a section for that? Flaming people that flame us, I
mean? It would be pointless, but at least they might be able to see it
from our point of view somehow.
Just a thought.

Thank's for the E-mailed article. I found it MOST interesting.

Concerning the rumours, I think that the sixth button one is probably not true.
I think that such a move would drastically alter gameplay and just turn the g
ame into another SF2. Personally, I play Mortal Kombat 'cause it isn't "WIMPY"
 like many of t
Japanese fighting games. Removal of the death moves would certainly stop me f
rom playing the game!

As for the so called "FAQ-busting" release system, where different states and c
ountries receive different versions, I think this would damage takings. I'm su
re I speak for many when I say that I didn't really play MK1 or MK2 until I had
 recived move l
ts. Knowing the moves encourages people to play the game. A fighting game's l
ifespan is determined by it's quality, not the number of secrets it contains!
That is why MK2 is STILL popular, even now that all the moves are known.

I just needed to air my views. I hope you were interested!

Keep up the Kombat!

Rob.

Hi

I just came up with an idea for the FAQ that may help things considerably.
If what the rumors say are true, and Midway does end up having different
joystick combinations for the same move, depending on where you live; one
way to write a good FAQ would be to first have a "blank" FAQ form, with
each of the characters and thier movements listed, but the joystick/button
combination left blank. Then in the following FAQ, each player has a
section, where each of the different possibilites are listed. This would
also have the nice side effect of producing a one to two page "detachable"
FAQ personalized for your area when you fill in the blanks. Let me know
what you think.

Subject: suggestion!

hey man! i have one quick suggestion that has to do with the fatals and
how they affect the mood of the game. i think blood is just nasty and
gross. they should take it and the fatals out because my three year old
son that i never pay attention to or take care of is now out playing that
game and then i get a letter from the teacher at his school saying he
sucked another student's soul right out of his body and that it
attributed to his playing mk2! ..........just kiddin' :-)
no really. i kind of felt that the fatals in mk1 were scary and dark
because they were just a little off touch with reality so they were
slightly realistic looking. but the fatals in mk2 were so outlandish and
full of magic and exageration that it was totally unbelievable even with
the great graphics. i didn't believe anybody was turning into a dragon
and eating their opponents up. i liked cage ripping off the upper torso
and kung lao slicing up the guy with his hat but sucking up someone's
body and spitting out the bones was way too silly looking.
i just would like to see the old dark looking mk again. apparently a
lot of people agree with me because i mention this quite frequently in
arcades and people listening always jump into the conversation and just
reinforce what i'm saying. oh well. just my $00.02. later.......
