I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW: The Eye and Your Vision

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although many people with impaired vision are classified as legally
blind, there is a world of difference between those who are truly blind (total
lack of vision) and those with some usable vision who are often mistaken for
someone who is totally without sight because of mere terminology. Individuals
who have low vision can be helped in many ways so that they may still take
advantage of their visual ability. There is a fine group dedicated to helping
those folks, and they have made a truly excellent publication available for
all who wish to understand just how the complex mechanisms of eyesight work.
The booklet, printed in large type entitled "The Eye and Your Vision" is
obtainable upon request from the National Association for Visually Handicapped
(NAVH), Department AB, 22 West 21st Street, 6th Floor, New York, NY 10010. No
envelope required as this booklet is too big to fit, and is packed with
information for visually handicapped individuals, their families and friends.
