I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW: Parkinson's Awareness Month

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Once considered a disease only of the aged, increasing numbers of
patients in their 30's, 40's and 50's are being diagnosed as having
Parkinson's Disease. In fact over 1.5 million Americans are reported to have
this disease. It is named after Dr. James Parkinson an English physician of
the early nineteenth century and was once known as paralysis agitans or
shaking palsy. April is National Parkinson's Awareness month and the National
Parkinson Foundation has asked me to help "get the word out". And I am trying
to do just that. Since the Foundation is trying to find the cause and cure
for Parkinson's Disease, provide diagnostic and therapeutic services and
improve quality of life for both patient and caregiver, I am happy to lend a
hand. You may obtain more information, publications and a newsletter either
by writing to the National Parkinson Foundation, Inc., 1501 N.W. 9th Avenue,
Bob Hope Road, Miami, Florida 33136 or by calling their toll free number
1-800-327-4545 (in Florida call 1-800-433-7022) You don't need an envelope for
this offer. Just ask for the material they promised Dr. Bruckheim they would
send you.
