I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE TO KNOW

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unproven remedies, from copper bracelets and uranium mines to snake venom
and megavitamins, are being tried at least once by most of the 37 million
Americans with arthritis, according to the Arthritis Foundation (AF). In
addition, one study shows one in ten people trying an unproven remedy for
arthritis report harmful side effects. "During May, which is National
Arthritis Month, the Arthritis Foundation is trying to help people with
arthritis, their families and friends, to make informed choices about
arthritis remedies they may hear about" declares Arthur Grayzel, M.D. the
Arthritis Foundation's senior vice president for medical affairs. To help you
understand the problem and provide you with information that can aid in making
wise decisions, the AF has prepared a most interesting booklet "Unproven
Remedies", which is yours for the asking. Send your request, along with a
stamped self addressed business size envelope to Arthritis Foundation, P.O.
Box 19000, Atlanta, GA 30326. You will find the answers to questions like
"What are unproven remedies?", How can unproven remedies harm your health?",
and "How can you spot an unproven remedy?" This 17 page booklet comes
complete with a chart showing the comparative safety (or lack thereof) of some
common unproven remedies for arthritis, an important checklist that will help
you spot the phonies, and those important addresses you may need when you
require additional help and assistance. If you have arthritis, may soon have
it, or know someone who does, (I guess that includes most everyone) this is a
must booklet for you to obtain.
PLEASE FORWARD YOUR REQUEST TO THE
                       ADDRESS INDICATED IN THE ARTICLE.
