NEW FEATURES
============
The following information was not included in the printed
User's Guide.

Comparing Table Data
--------------------
When comparing differences in table data, Total Access Detective
creates two additional fields in the output table. The first field,
called [TAD_Diff_Type] identifies the difference type, according to the
following table:

  Difference
  Type           Description
  ----------     -----------
  1 The record exists in table 1 but not table 2

  2 The record exists in table 2 but not table 1

  M The record exists in both tables and has been
                 modified.

You can use this field as a quick way to identify difference
types and as a linking or selection field in queries you
design to use Total Access Detective data outside the
program.

The second field, [TAD_Num_Diffs] shows the number of fields in
the record that contain differences.

USING OTHER PROGRAMS WHILE RUNNING TOTAL ACCESS DETECTIVE
=========================================================
Because Total Access Detective runs under Microsoft Access
and is written in Access Basic, it will not work correctly
if Microsoft Access is minimized.

When running Total Access Detective, do not minimize the
Microsoft Access window, or the program may stop working.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR INTERNATIONAL USERS
====================================
Total Access Detective supports the following versions of
Microsoft Access 2.0:

  English
  German
  French
  Spanish
  Portuguese
  Italian

The program's documentation, forms and help file are in
English. However the program will automatically detect
international versions of Access and adjust its behavior
accordingly. For information on other language versions
of Total Access Detective, please contact FMS, Inc.

SETTING REPORTS TO A4 PAPER SIZE
================================
For our users who utilize A4 paper size, we have included
a conversion utility that will convert all Total Access
Detective reports from the default 8.5 x11 paper size to
A4 paper size. To run this utility, follow these steps:

1. Open the Total Access Library Database as a normal
   Database. This is explained in the "Advanced Topics"
   Section of the manual. This database is called
   TAD_CODE.MDA and is located in the directory where
   you installed Total Access Detective.

2. Run the macro called "Convert Reports to A4 Paper Size"

3. A form appears. Select the paper size you want and press
   the [Convert] button. Total Access Detective will convert
   all the reports.

4. Close TAD_CODE.MDA and open the TADETECT.MDB database
   located in the directory where you installed Total Access
   Detective. Hold down the [Shift] key while opening the
   database to temporarily disable the AutoExec macro.

5. Follow steps 3 and 4 again in this database.

Your reports will remain at the last setting until you
run the conversion utility again. Note that if you
re-install Total Access Detective, the default 8.5x11
paper size will be used, and you will need to re-run
this process.

USING TOTAL ACCESS DETECTIVE DATA OUTSIDE THE PROGRAM
(DATA TABLE FORMATS)
=====================================================
If you wish to use the data generated by Total Access
Detective outside of the program for your own queries,
reports, or program code, please see the Rich-Text-Format
(RTF) document entitled STRUCT.RTF. This file is placed
in the directory where you installed Total Access Detective
and contains information on the layout of the program's
data tables.

You can view this file with any program capable of reading
RTF documents, such as:

 * Microsoft Word
 * Microsoft Write (which ships with Microsoft Windows 3.x)
 * Microsoft WordPad (which ships with Microsoft Windows 95)
