a file with a ".DLL" extension is in use, you may
safely continue the installation; you do not need
    to stop.

*** Memory Requirements ***

When you start up Riverboat Solitaire, it checks to
see if it thinks there is enough memory available to
run the program. If not, it will display a warning
message: "There may not be enough free memory to
successfully run Riverboat Solitaire." You can
continue to run the program if this occurs, but you
might have problems later on as memory becomes
    depleted.

If you have a Super VGA adapter in your system, and
are running in a mode that uses more than 16 colors,
(e.g., 256 colors or 16 million colors), Riverboat
Solitaire will require significantly greater amounts
of memory to run. If you are experiencing problems
in one of these modes with more than 16 colors, you
might try re-configuring your video drivers to 16
colors and see if that solves your problems. Similarly,
if you are running in a video mode that has a display
size greater than 640x480, you might try reducing your
display to 640x480 to free up some additional memory.

If you are running Windows in Standard Mode, and have
an 80386, 80486, or Pentium processor, you might be
better off running Windows in Enhanced Mode. Enhanced
Mode will generally provide a significant increase in
the amount of memory available for Windows applications.

Symptoms of insufficient memory during the running of
Riverboat Solitaire include messages like "Out of
Memory" and "Cannot create autoredraw image." Also,
if the command buttons or other parts of the screen
"go transparent" (i.e., you can see parts of other
applications or the Program Manager where the buttons
should be), you are running low on memory. Another
symptom is having face cards display on the screen with
a blank white area where the Jack, Queen or King should
    appear.

At almost any time during the running of Riverboat Solitaire,
you can press the F10 key and a pop-up will show you how
much memory is available as of that instant. If that
number gets too low, or if the available resources get
too low, you may be in danger of imminently running out
    of memory.

For more information about memory configurations and other
corrective actions you can try to solve memory problems,
please refer to the printed documentation that came with
    Riverboat Solitaire.
