Iggy, The Flintstones Cuckoo Clock: Technical Update and Troubleshooting Addenda: 7 / 22 / 94
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
First of all, thanks for buying a Turner Interactive Product! We hope you are enjoying Iggy. But just in case you aren't, listed below are tips on how to get past some common problems. If you still need assistance, call our Technical Support line (see bottom of file)!

General:

Iggy is running in a transparent window -- a technique that "pushes the envelope" of Windows. Should you move a window out from under the clock, Iggy may leave behind a ghost image. To remove this, just minimize and then maximize your troubled window. Or, try using Digital Mode and keep Iggy near the top of your screen, where you most likely won't even notice the problem. If you click on and hold the menu bar for just a second before you relocate the window, the problem will not appear at all!

If you "End Iggy," Windows will display the next application on its Task List. Since this is not always the one you want, your desired application/window may move to where you cannot see it. No problem -- you can get it back on screen by either using CTL-ESC and selecting from the Task List, or by just pressing ALT-TAB until your window appears.

Occasionally, there may be a slight shift in the Iggy window if you play reminders. This is caused by a Windows timing conflict. It appears randomly, and will not affect your system at all.

If your system has been running continuously for days, you might encounter error messages that say "Error Playing." This appears to be a problem with the Windows Swap file. If you see such a message, you should end Iggy and restart him when you restart Windows. This problem occurs only on some systems. If your Virtual Memory setting (In Windows/Control Panel/386 Enhanced) is set at Permanent, this occurs less frequently. Digital Mode seems to be completely unaffected.

You should not snooze more than two reminders at once, as this can create some distortion in the reminder files. During normal operation, this should never even present a problem, but we intend to repair it. So if you call Turner Interactive On-Line (see your documentation), you should be able to download a patch when it is ready (we expect by 15 August 1994).

Software Compatibility:

If you have a DOS window open, and you switch between screens, Iggy may terminate. DOS full-screen modes will work okay.

Hardware Compatibility:

If you encounter difficulties when trying to Install Iggy, make sure that your video adapter setting is at 256 colors or less. Once installed, Iggy should run fine if you switch back to higher color mode. If you still have problems, call tech support.

Thanks!
