Avalon Woods - 'The South Course'
Comments and Notes

Course name: Avalon Woods - 'The South Course'
Location: Anne Arundel County, Maryland
Length\par: 6755 - par 72
Wind:
Design: Original JNSE design for the
             PNGT by James Morrow
Sources: 'The 1992 Viewers Guide to Professional
             Golf' published by Intergolf

Background: The background is an original. Its actually my
second attempt; though its the first one I've used on a course
that's been distributed to the public.

Objects: The objects are a mixture of some originals, some
borrowed and some modified. Quite frankly, with the apparent free
usage of most of the objects by the many JNSE designers it has
become very difficult to determine who the original artists are.
I know I've borrowed objects from Gene Rodriguez III, Ted Maiden,
Dave Dykeman, Scott Chesney, Phil McCloud and Lee Ritze. Thank you
for the use and thank you for your creativity.

Special thanks to Bill Claybourn for play testing Avalon Woods and
the other JNSE designs I have released.

Palette: Thanks to John Kuniyk for developing his palette editor.

Avalon Woods is an original design, located somewhere south of
Annapolis, Maryland. if you look real hard at an Anne Arundel
County map, you might find it near the West River. Actually Avalon
Woods can be anywhere along the east coast!

I want to thank the folks at the PNGT for considering this
design. They originally played, and I assume enjoyed, my
latest design ' Cut and Shoot Golf Ranch'. They liked it,
so here's Avalon Woods.

Avalon is tough but fair. This holds true with most of my course
designs. Some will not agree, but we all have our own opinions.

For those that seen my other designs, Avalon Woods has been toned
down considerably. The greens are much fairer and so are the
traditional landing areas in the fairway. If you try to out drive
these areas, you may find yourself in trouble or at least you'll
have to scramble to make par. During the play testing the course,
at least to me, played easier than previous designs... no I haven't
improved that much... in fact, my abilities are closer to hacker,
than shark!

Again enjoy your rounds and tournaments this month.
