How to Make Backup Copies of Microsoft Golf 2.0 Disks
---------------------------------------------------------

Your Microsoft Golf 2.0 disks use a new format called DMF
(Distribution Media Format), which provides more capacity
on a standard 1.44 Megabyte floppy disk and requires less
disk swapping on installation.

If you want to make backup copies of your disks, you need
to use the utility DMFCOPY.EXE, which is provided on the
Setup disk. Disks using DMF cannot be copied with the DOS
DISKCOPY command.

To copy DMFCOPY.EXE to your hard drive:

1. Insert the Setup disk into drive A.
2. Type copy a:\dmfcopy.exe c:\dos

You can place the DMF copy utility in your DOS directory,
as shown here, or in any directory in your Path.

To make copies of Microsoft Golf 2.0 disks:

1. The Setup disk (Disk 1) does not use Distribution Media
Format. Disk 1 can be copied using the DOS DISKCOPY command.
   For example:

   type diskcopy a: a:

prompts you to insert the SOURCE and TARGET diskettes
alternately to make a copy using drive A.

2. To make copies of all other Golf 2.0 disks use the DMFCOPY
   command. For example:

   type dmfcopy a:

prompts you to insert the SOURCE and TARGET diskettes to make
   a copy using drive A.

NOTE: DMFCOPY.EXE must be run at the DOS prompt. It cannot be run
under Windows NT. DMFCOPY requires that at least 2 megabytes of
disk space be available in the directory specified by the TMP
environment variable.
