This is meant to mend a problem with VOR REM (Reims) near Paris. This VOR
has no DME readout in FS5(tm). But in reality it has.
At least all "Jeppesen"(tm) charts say so.

!!!!! Before you do anything to your files, please make a backup !!!!!

First copy the included situation file to your \FLTSIM5\PILOTS directory.
Now run FS5 and select situation "TEST REM". You will be tuned to
REM (NAV1, 112.3). You will see, you have no DME readout.

Now leave FS5 and get to a C:\FLTSIM5\SCENERY prompt.
1) Type "debug world3.bgl" and hit <enter>. You will get a "-" prompt.
2) Type "d 5e85" and hit <enter>. If you get "02" as first shown byte,
go ahead. If not, go to 5).
                                  You can't use the patch.
                                  Please contact the author.
3) Type "e cs:5e85 03" and hit <enter>. You'll get a "-" prompt.
4) Type "w" and hit <enter>.
5) Type "q" and hit <enter> to quit,

Load FS5 and again select situation "TEST REM".
You will see, it has a DME readout now.

I tested it and it worked so far.
Please let me know, if you have troubles with it.

This works, whether you have "Microsoft Paris" or not.

Works also with V5.0a, where the problem still is uncorrected.

I want to thank:

         Maurizio M.Gavioli; without his FS5struc I would
not have been able to create this.

Dan Samuel, who has given me valuable information with his
         "Listvor" program.

Walter Gallauner, who again mentioned a problem to me.

Last but not least Enno Borgsteede, who at this time did no
         testing of the spelling.
