IndyCar Racing Association (ICRA) 1994 Racing Season
       ==========================================

Welcome to the Inaugural season of the ICRA! Our purpose here is to
promote the enjoyment of Papyrus' IndyCar Racing through the exchange
of information and accounts of experiences while using the sim. This
series will be devoted to learning and using IndyCar racing and developing
relationships with other members who wish to share their experience with
it. The competition is friendly and informal, and all are welcome to run
along with us. If you're a novice, check the Library from time to time
for ICR.tip files to help you advance in your racing skill.

The Main Event in the ICRA is the 12-race Sportsims IndyCar Series, but
there are many other competitive events planned. In conjunction with
the Main Series Races, on the same schedule, there will be a separate
competition using rules of Full Realism. Between these events, the ICRA
Race of Champions will take place; and at the same tracks and on the same
schedule, the Solo Speed Trials. The remaining open schedule dates
will be filled with Special Events called Challenge Events - different
challenges to your skill devised by the Commissioner.

=========== Sportsims IndyCar Series ==== (Main Races) ===========

The Sportsims IndyCar series will consist of 12 races, one at each of the
tracks included in IndyCar Racing, scheduled to correspond to the dates
of the actual IndyCar races, and 4 added races at specified tracks. The
schedule will allow racers two weeks at each track. The first week will
be open practice, with open discussions on practice sessions, car setups
and even race setups if you like. (You may run your race in week one).

You may select any chassis/engine combination for each race.

You must use only ICR default files except as directed by the
 Commissioners.

You may use any control input device, and any control input menu choice.

When participating in an ICRA race, select Single Race option. This will
allow you to select tracks in ICRA series order, and to start over if you
 need to.

There will be three Driver Groups. Each Group is tailored to a specific
level of skill and time commitment suited to different individual drivers.

 Group A - Fun Group

Designed for those drivers who, due to either their skill level or the
amount of time they can commit to participation, want a simple, fun
series. Each driver will race and report, but will not compete against
   each other for points.

 Group B - Light Competition

Designed for those who are learning and take casually the rigors of
intense competition. Some regulations will be imposed and points will
   be awarded.

 Group C - Expert Competition

Designed for those who want to participate in the highest level of
competition against the best SPRTSIMS drivers. Points will be awarded.

You may race each race in any Group you choose, so if you are ready for
tough competition at one track - choose Group C, but want an easier
competition or just a fun drive at another track, you can choose Group A
or Group B and still participate in every race.

Standings and points will be posted for Group B and Group C racers.
Combined Standings will also be posted for those who run across multiple
Groups, and thereby lose position in the Group Standings.

 After your race...

You should write a report for everyone to read and enjoy. Tell us about
the practice session. How did it go? Did you spin a lot? What setups did
you try, and which one worked? What happened in qualifying? Who set the
pole and how fast was he? What tires are you using?

How did the race go? What pit stops did you make, and what for? Be as
explicit or secretive as you prefer. Do you have a team name? Sponsors
and team principles? Elaborate and discuss these things with other members
as we all will learn and enjoy from your experiences.

Reports should be posted to Lane Charnes 71520,2064 , Subject "ICRA RACE
REPORT XX", where XX is the identifier for the track. Identify the
track using abbreviation shown in the schedule, and the letter M or C
to indicate a Main Race or Challenge Race (as, ICRA LB-M Race Report.
Your report must be posted as a public msg in Sportsims Forum Section 14.
We want to collect data on peoples' preferences regarding driving aids,
length of races, and competition levels. We want to know what skill level
most people are at, so tell us how you did, and also how you liked the
opponent level, race length, and other particulars. This will help in
 future ICRA series and events.

drive with a full field of Opponents or 100 % distance, may run this
race, but will not qualify for the Full Realism title. Points will be
tracked, for your information, in a separate listing.

Points awarded will be the same as in actual IndyCar Racing, with endurance

Events. The SST will be single races, not a series. Drivers may select
any car and set it up as they choose; there are no restrictions. Race is
run as a solo event, meaning you choose 0 (zero) Opponents. Goal is the
fastest Race Speed. Run 100 %, 50 %, or 25 % race distance, your option.
