   Hello there,

First of all, I want to reaffirm PTG's intentions concerning this file.
We are simply upholding our bylaws, and denouncing a misrepresentation by
another major group. This research will hopefully save a lot of end-users
time and credits. In addition, several people, including Marauder of Razor,
asked me for information concerning Legend's release. This is in no way a
personal attempt at attacking Legend's integrity. We are bringing to light
   the truth.

On June 3, 1994, NFL VIDEO PRO FOOTBALL was released by the Maverick
of Legend. The boxes and screen captures below speak for themselves:

Now, I'm willing to bet those of you who are reading this within 30
minutes of the release have only one thought in mind: LEGEND DUPED
RAZOR FROM 1992! Well, if the 7 disk size didn't tip you off (the
Razor version was only 3), this is a quite enhanced version from the
original. So sit back and enjoy a nice football game, compliments of

Sometime, in June of 1993, I requested an old, no longer spread, game I
had seen on a big ( multi-gig ) board local to my area (703), and in stores
for several months. The game was NFL VIDEO PRO FOOTBALL. Knowing very
well that the Legend release was the same, as no new game was expected
from Konami and they sold the rights to their games to Gametek, but
surprised at those odd filedates, I got the game back from tape, and
compared the files. The results are presented below in these captures:

As you can all see, the games are identical to the byte in ALL RESPECTS
except for the file dates on the main files... I will not even attempt to
explain this descrepency. As an additional precaution, I went ahead and
installed both games and played them. The obvious was confirmed leaving
no doubt that this game is dated from 10/92 and miraculously 'rejuvinated'
   its filedates.

This game was reviewed at great lengths in the gaming literature. In
addition, it is known to most salespersons in software stores: the game
sucks as a football game but features those short animated footages of
plays, which gives it its identity as being unique. Common sense and
little true research point out that there is no way a game, designed
with 1992 technology, which features video clips, would only be 3 files.
And, as I said before, Konami doesn't release any PC games or enhancements
anymore and sold the rights to the game to Gametek a while ago. If this
had been an inside release, as Butcher told Marauder and Marauder posted
publically, surely, it would have come from someone in Gametek and they
would have stamped their logo to it.

PENTAGRAM will nuke the game off of all its boards, because it is
guilty of being a dupe of an ancient game.

To show that we do not hold any kind of spite or disrespect toward
Legend as a whole, we renew our wish of success for their future releases
and congratulate them on quality releases such as Theatre of Death, but
urge them to learn from their mistakes... we did.

        Sincerely,

                               Fanfan la Tulipe
